Is there any way to naturally lower one’s sex drive? Not so much to the point where it would never happen again but enough to really curb the urge.

I dunno, they say the army puts stuff in those boys potatoes, while they’re in boot camp.

I quit eating mashed potatoes when I was 13. I wasn’t taking any chances.

My question is why?🤷

To not care so much/feel so undesired when it doesn’t happen for a while.

Are you M/F?

So the problem is, you have desires but your partner doesn’t, so instead of being sexually frustrated you want to be indifferent to those desires?

Pretty much.

Thanks, ack. My entire issue with this IS in that thread. 🙂

I read your other thread just now. I don’t think you need to lower your sex drive. Maybe HE needs to drink some Acai berry juice? I’ve read all about it because I saw an ad saying it is used for weight loss. As I read on I found out all the other benefits of it. It is said to naturally increase sex drive (make HIM desire it more)… Just a thought, don’t stone me over here!! LOL!!! 😊 🤷

**Your sex drive is not your problem. I can only speak for myself here but have to assume that it is true for a lot of other people…

having one’s spouse not desire us hurts. You could have ZERO physical drive and it would still hurt. You could be in an accident where your entire lower body is gone…poof, no vagina…and to know that your spouse didn’t miss making love to you would HURT.

it is not the sex drive you need to deal with, it is the hurt.**

Fasting works…
I wouldn’t recommend it on a daily basis though

Ok, now that I went back and read the other thread, I remember.

So I guess nothing has improved at your house? What’s the deal with this guy?

But to answer your question, is there any natural way to curb your sexual appetite? I don’t think so. Exercise increases mine, so I wouldn’t recommend working out till you drop, starving might work, but it may be worse than the alternative, so that leaves some kind of drug intervention, which I’m sure would have side effects, becasue you’re messing with your hormomes.

I know you’re feeling cheated on this, and I don’t have a solution because much of the problem is with your husband. Y’alls sex drives are not on the same page, and that situation has been known to cause problems.

You are to be commended for thinking of your marriage and not looking somewhere else for your “needs”. There are so many factors that could be involved here that it is going backwards to speculate. Your husband…it is a husband we are talking about here…oui ou non? Here are some factors that could be involved…
Health issues that he doesn’t realize
Health issues that he does
Age…it effects some more than others…
Psychological issues…that comes under health above…
I would go to a health professional only after HE discussed with me what HE thinks the problem might be. Before you can solve a mystery you do need a few clues. I hear that he is a little less sexually active than you would like but he has got to discuss the issues with you or you are going nowhere but down in your relationship.
Suffice it to say something is wrong here.
Hey…I feel your pain…

I forgot to add…most men would be elated to have a spouse with your… shall we say “drive”. You don’t have a problem to repair…he does.

Hi, everyone!

Thank you very much for your replies. Apparently, my husband agrees with me that we don’t have enough sex… yet when I would like to initiate, it’s usually a no for one reason or another. Anyway, I still would like to lower my drive so I can think less about it. Any suggestions?

**Prayer.

Prayer for God to give you the strength to carry this cross and the courage to do your part to help make it better (whatever that is).

If you find yourself in the mood and then get rejected by hubby, pray for HIM first, then pray for yourself. Have a set prayer all written down so that you can say it no matter how upset you are.

Then “offer it up”. Anytime you are feeling hurt or angry or frustrated, pray for couples who may be unable to have sex due to illness or injury, for those who’s spouses have died, and for those who are struggling in marriage like yourself. It takes awhile to get the hang of “offering it up” but it really can have a profound impact on your perspective as well as your situation.

In short, use this to grow as a person and grow closer to God. There is no magic pill that can make this go away…and even if there was, you would be cheating yourself by taking the easy way out.

That’s a great idea. I haven’t properly prayed in a while. I was just never prepared for something like this (what newlywed is?). It’s so difficult.

Prayer is always good. Definitely do that.

But don’t go around looking to damage your body and shut down parts of it so that you don’t have to face dealing with and solving the very real problem in your marriage.
