How do we blaspheme against the Holy Spirit and why can’t we repent and be forgiven?

I think be being like me is the example spoken of there. Still not believing even though the Christian God claims to have hard wired us to “know him”.

So, you most likely are not in that situation.

Because, you can always repent of any sin and be forgiven.

But, if I don’t end up believing and die… And, the Christian God really exists, I’m doomed.

To blaspheme against the Holy Spirit is to not believe in salvation.

I’d agree with this from what I have learned here.

I guess the Christian God created some people to be doomed. Because, I am so far.

I think God created all with the possibility of salvation. Those who refuse it are the ones who refuse God’s saving grace.

Why would anyone refused this divine gift?

Not believing. That’s about it in the cliff notes version.

Okay, so one does not believe therefore one may not believe in the salvation as explained by human Catholics. But that does not translate to refusing the gift per se as I understand it. Since according to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, some do not come to believe because they were never taught the Truth, taught incorrectly what the Truth really is, or are ability to learn the Truth in other ways. And these does not necessary damn themselves.

Are you saying that does not apply to you. Instead you simply heard and know the truth but refuse to believe in it?

Unbelief is a choice, Strawberry. You choose not to believe. And you’re not doomed until you’re dead. Only God is your judge, not even yourself.

The scribes and pharisees had seen Jesus’ miracles and signs, but they refused to believe that He had been sent by God. Rather, they claimed that He was in league with the devil. Jesus warned that people could blaspheme Him all they wanted, and they could still be forgiven, but not those who blasphemed the Holy Spirit (see Matthew 12 for a fuller description).

The point He was making was that, if you refuse to believe in God even when you see His miracles performed right in front of you, then you cannot believe in Him when you need to to be forgiven.

It isn’t an issue of a refusal by God to forgive you when you ask; it’s an issue of your inability to ask for forgiveness in the first place.
