Uh, I said I drive to another town. I can’t quit my job in the hopes that the secretary is actually there and willing to open the church door.
You don’t need to convince me.

I was merely pointing out that sometimes (most times) discipleship is not easy. Its virtuous of you to drive to another town.

However, speculating that the secretary may or may not be there, or may or may not be willing to open the door seems to be making an excuse for not even trying.

Luke 9:55–62 (NABRE)
55 Jesus turned and rebuked them, 56 and they journeyed to another village. 57 As they were proceeding on their journey someone said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.” 58 Jesus answered him, “Foxes have dens and birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to rest his head.” 59 And to another he said, “Follow me.” But he replied, “Lord, let me go first and bury my father.” 60 But he answered him, “Let the dead bury their dead. But you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.” 61 And another said, “I will follow you, Lord, but first let me say farewell to my family at home.” 62 To him Jesus said, “No one who sets a hand to the plow and looks to what was left behind is fit for the kingdom of God.”

My bad…I guess it doesn’t matter what parish I go to…priests come and go…I probably watch too much of the Vortex…church militant tv…but I’m learning now that Devotion to Mary is Key…

I’m a convert and I live in San Diego but most parishes around me are lukewarm and have adoratuon only one time a month and no Saturday morning masses are offered in a lot of these parishes either…what should I do? Btw. I think that there are a lot of freemasons in my area of San Diego…
I think you just do the best you can with the resources you have, pray to God to lead you, and take the opportunities He gives you when they arise.

Is there a particular reason you’re looking for a Saturday morning mass? What about Saturday evening (vigil), Sunday morning (perhaps a very early one if you can’t go later), or Sunday afternoon/evening mass as options?

I know this is a little late, but there are often reasons why there are no Sat. morning Masses and infrequent adoration schedules, and it has nothing to do with lukewarmness. There is a priest shortage out there. Often there is only one priest and maybe a Deacon on staff. In many places, a priest is the only priest in the parish and serving as an administrator in another. A priest is only allowed to say a certain number of Masses in a day and on a weekend. The Sunday Liturgy (including the Sat. PM Mass takes precedence over the daily Sat. Mass. Many priests anymore are operating outside the limit, with the Bishop"s permission, to meet the needs of the parish for Sunday worship. In my parish this was the situation for years, and finally they had to revise the Mass schedule–too many parishioners, not enough priests. We had 3200 families and one full time and one part-time priest. We never have a Sat. AM Mass.

As for Adoration, that too becomes a problem if there are not enough clergy available and enough parishioners to cover the hours. We have it once a week for 24 hours, and barely enough people to cover. Having frequent Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is a big undertaking if it is done properly. The parishes you call “lukewarm” might just not have the resources to meet your expectations. So that is unfair to label them so without knowing their circumstances.

You can adore the Blessed Sacrament without Exposition in most parishes, as it has been noted.

There are a lot of Freemasons where I live, too, and we are the seat of the Diocese. That has nothing to do with it. Please do not start to develop a negative attitude about religious things–that will not help you at all in your spiritual growth. Don’t judge without facts and knowledge. It is easy to misjudge and alienate yourself from the Church this way.
