This thread is nearly 6 years old. There’s a [thread=621635]sticky[/thread] about resurrecting such things.

While Lumen Gentium of course has no binding power on the Church, is it not problematic?

My friend; your seeing someting I am not:) Or reading into it someting I don’t see?

I’ve read the Documents of vatican II.

I don’t care much for some of the “Spirit Of” interpetations we have gotten; but don’t see much to complain about in the documents themselves.

Certainly to those “outside” the CC the “Pope” is commonly viewd as “being THEE Church”; so much so that many wish to claim that everything he says and does is proclaimed “infallible”; not just Faith and Moral teachings.😊

For us in The Church: the Pope is to be another Christ in example. And certianly IS “it’s visible head”. While not all past Popes have lived up to the task assigned to them by God; it certainly has proven to be true in recent Popes IMO.👍
