What exactly is lust? How can it be applied to real life situations? Are all offenses against chastity a mortal sin? If some offences against chastity are venial sins, please list them.

Church teaching seems pretty clear to me:What exactly is lust? How can it be applied to real life situations? Are all offenses against chastity a mortal sin? If some offences against chastity are venial sins, please list them.
CCC 2351 Lust is disordered desire for or inordinate enjoyment of sexual pleasure. Sexual pleasure is morally disordered when sought for itself, isolated from its procreative and unitive purposes.

Yes…Sexual pleasure is only for marriage (and then in the only in the chaste way) …not for the unmarried…such would be for them grave matter for mortal sin…

St. Thomas allows for one kind of sexual sin that is venial.
It is when husband and wife are moved by excessive lust to have sex. And even though they are lustful, neither of them would be willing to break the bonds of matrimony to satisfy this lust. This excessive lust is, according to him, venial sin.

St. Thomas I believe does not refer to it as “excessive lust” for there is no good lust that would be of a “moderate amount” …and there is more to what he writes there…(such as the married man is not treating his wife as “just a woman”…instead of as his wife…see Summa for details.)St. Thomas allows for one kind of sexual sin that is venial.

You are right: by excessive lust I mean excessive sexual desire. Other than that, his position is exactly as I presented it, and can be found, for instance, in De Malo, 15, 2.
I quote from that passage: “And the disorder of the desire sometimes does not eliminate the ordination of the ultimate end, namely, when a man, although excessively desiring sexual pleasure, would abstain from it before he would act contrary to God’s precept, and he would not have intercourse with any woman unless she were his wife. And then the desire stays within the bounds of marriage and is a venial sin.”

He says more in the Summa
(it should be noted for readers too that St. Thomas is not saying lust is not sinful in marriage…or that there can not be mortal sins of lust in marriage …but rather I think he is using a particular meaning here in speaking of a very particular thing … one would have to read the Summa et al in context to get his meaning)

I am not Catholic, but a Christian. I understand you Catholic brothers and sisters rely on the church pretty much for everything, but we Christians rely on the word of God only, and not on regilious traditions. I will try to tell you as much as possible from the scripture and not opinions.
For us Christians, there is no such thing as mortal or venial sin: every offence to our Lord is a sin and all of us should ask our Lord only for forgiveness every time we sin.
Lust is an unrestrained,overwhelming desire or craving for anything. It can be for money,food,sex, etc. Lust is mostly use for sexual sins in the bible, but it could apply to anything.
When someone has an unrestrained,intense desire for sex, it is considered lust. That person can not control their sexual desire and only thinks of sex all of the time, and forgets about everything else in life. In other words, he/she is addicted to sex. This is different from having a big sex drive, because having a big sex drive, you are still able to control your desires and are able to focus on other things in life than just sex. This is the difference between an addiction and having a big drive.
Many people say that it is okay to have lust towards your spouse in marriage, but they are incorrect. Another word for lust is lasciviousness.
In Galatians 5:19-21 in the bible, it tells us about our sinful nature, and that we should not follow any of them, because if we do, we will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Lasciviousness is one of the sinful natures, and it means to express lust, so lust it is still wrong even at marriage.
There is nothing wrong in having a big sex drive, but if it becomes an addiction, substain from sex or anything similar and pray to God so he can help you with self-control. I know it is not an easy thing to do, but praying to father God, we can succeed.
The sins that offence chastity are listed in the verces that I gave you from the bible(Gal 5:19-21). I don’t know which version of the bible you have, but I heard many Catholics use the Revised Standard Version. If you have that version, than the list that goes againts chastity are in the verse 19 which are: immorality, impurity, licentiousness.
Have faith,trust and pray everyday to God.

Remember, the bible tells that anyone who follows these works of the flesh, will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Any work of the flesh goes againts the spirit. Let the Holy Spirit guide you. The Holy Spirit gives you love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,and self-control(Gal.5:22-23).
