After i read the last-day Bible quotes there was one word that i can’t normally understand - “Lust”. So in what condition it would be a sin? Since i haven’t a real love relationships with a girl, well, i am kinda want it to happens, but now i think i don’t have enough emotions, strength and will to make from typical girl a girl who can understand my faith etc, but still i know that in the end i will have family because i want it so hard, so here is the question: looking for girl photos via social networks/instagram etc just to see beauty - is it a sin and the lust? I mean, not like nude girls etc - i don’t like it and trying not to get on such kind of photos and this is probably a sin to look on nude or bikini photo of girls or sorta, i am talking about normal photos. Sometimes really i have thoughts of dreaming about girls via web and even in real life in university, just thoughts about mysterious relationship that will never will happen, i know this is a sin, but what about just looking at photos? This reminds me of fashion photographer job, my friend is catholic and also making fashion photo (any variants except nude for sure) so what about him? And, oh, want answer so bad 🙂

What’s the attitude behind seeking pictures to look at? If it’s to satisfy your “lust,” then it would be a sin. And the same would go for the photography. But it sounds like your friend does it as a job, so it’s less likely he does it for sinful purposes. I guess what I’m trying to say is that it depends on the intent. If you do it, intending to sin, then there’s a problem.

Well for example: i have instagram account and i follow some girls to see their pictures because they’re beautiful, i think nothing left behind of it - still sin? I dont get it 😦 😦

When we choose to put our Lord Jesus Christ at the center of our lives through a committed prayer life and going to confession regularly and receiving the Eucharist with faith, then it becomes easier to see what is sin and what is not sin. He can then take care of pointing out to us what our vocation in life is, and how we should seek a life-partner who also has the goal of Jesus being first in their life.

This can be difficult, but very possible with the help of the grace of the Lord. Our Lady’s intercession can help much here also.

Are there social and spiritual activities you can become a part of in your parish or a neighboring parish?

That would be one way to make female friendships.

As for photographers…it is not only nudity that can be an occasion of sin.

Sure we have some group with parishers, i have no problem with that, but this thing that i do: searching for cool photos of people/building/design etc and then put it on my blog/PC folder, i was thinking about it hundred of times i realized that it’s okay, but again quote with the Jesus’ Word “Lust” reminds me of what i’d like to do with internet (as i said) so still i have doubt about it

Lust is the extension of one’s ego onto another person. It seeks to possess that person for one’s own sexual pleasure.

Once a person possesses, they will do whatever they can to keep that person under their control, to the point of committing further evils.

David saw Bathsheba and lusted for her. Once his lust brought him to possess her, he then sent Uriah on a mission where he would be killed.

The evil of lust will drive a person to possess and then to other evils.

Looking at photos of a pretty girl, isn’t lust. In fact, looking at a picture of a nude girl isn’t necessarily lust. It only becomes lust when the possession takes place within the mind and opens the door to other sins.

A priest friend of mine told me, that when he was in the seminary, his teachers told the men, you can look for no more than 30 seconds. Beyond that your mind will begin to possess the image and lead you to sin.

If I looked for 30secs I’d have lost my drivers licence long ago. Seriously tho I live next to a college town and dread driving thru there, spandex at 10below (are’nt they cold??) come on. I asked my wife if looking was lust, she says no its natural for a man to look. If I catch myself wandering near the lust line (or the centerline) its ‘get thee behind me devil’ or else I’ll pray for the young lady to dress more appropriately.
God Bless

okay, seems like new problem to me lol
my university friend (Violett, good name tho, yeah?) is dressed like our ex premier minister Julia Tymoschenko with her haircut, since i respect that women i was looking to her like with, oh, that point that i’d like how she dressed today, of cource that was a kinda friendship roleplay game or sorta joke but really that was lovely, so what about that situation? i felt that since it’s just one-day haircut and dress then i can’t feel something (except “good looks sis” or sorta) because it’s just temporary, tomorrow she will be typical Violett of my routine university day with friends if you know what i mean, so i am very disappointed
