I’m a 25 year old man who recently returned to the Catholic Church and am engaged to be married in August.

I’m ashamed:(

I was driving an noticed a high school girl’s:blush:😊 breasts. I quickly averted my eyes but looked back for literally 1-2 seconds definitely for sexual arousal then quickly turned away. I didn’t move my head. I just moved my eyeballs.

I KNOW. I’m 25!!! Shame on me:blush:😊:(:(:o

I received communion later that day (weekday Mass).
Did I commit sacrilege??

What it be different for an un-engaged male?

It sounds as if you were tempted but rejected the temptation.

From the Catechism of the Catholic Church

1857 For a sin to be mortal, three conditions must together be met: “Mortal sin is sin whose object is grave matter and which is also committed with full knowledge and deliberate consent.”

1859 Mortal sin requires full knowledge and complete consent.

I seriously need to talk to a priest about this. I did avert my eyes and then gave into the temptation of looking by rolling my eyeballs for 1-2 seconds. So, isn’t the looking for 1-2 seconds to gain some sexual arousal the sin!?!?!?

Perhaps she scandalized you by what she was wearing.

I think Lust entails an intention (“if I could I would”). Either way, master yourself and purify your heart.
