How did Martin Luther understand and use Romans 1: 16, Gospel is the power of God to save?

I would love to hear his thoughts.

Can you be more specific in your question?

Luther’s commentaries on Romans are widely available, and his preface can even be found online. To Luther, Romans is perhaps Paul’s purest explanation of how God saves the Christian by Grace (received in the Sacraments and the hearing of the Word) through Faith.
 
Do some people not understand Romans 1:16 as it is written? I’m not sure what you are asking.
