Since we wrote our first post a couple of weeks ago, I want to reiterate: Luther revolted for one reason; he wanted the New Testament re-interpreted and called for a Council to do this. He soon knew this would never happen! He disagreed with the Church fathers, many of early fathers were disciples of St. John the Apostle. This was a pity. As a result, enter “sola scriptura”, self-interpretation of Scripture, which has resulted in many thousands of denominations in the United States alone. AND many of these denominational ministers, they tell their congregants, “all catholics are going to hell”, and they(not those ministers) believe this. Luther never made that statement.
