It’s not always simply a matter of either / or.By the way, the claim about Peter as head on earth; God makes the same claim, both cannot be right.
To give but one example:
“Jesus spoke to them again, saying, ‘I am the light of the world.’" John 8:12
Yet elsewhere he tells his disciples:
“You are the light of the world.” Matt. 5:14
Now the Church is the light of the world! Yet, like Luther, it is this *very Church *which you reject! But perhaps you should consider the following words of Luther himself. These comments were made before his break with the Apostolic See, a See which, btw, the apostle praised (Romans 1:8):
“Heretici autem propriissime velle malum Ecclesie…"Heretics cannot themselves appear good unless they depict the Church as evil, false, and mendacious. They alone wish to be esteemed the good, but the Church must be made to appear evil in every respect.
