What are good arguements for use against Lutherans? Does anyone know any good books or websites to research this on? Where exactly do they veer from catholic doctrine?

This is my suggestion…spend your time studying the Catholic faith…start with the Catechism…the Church Fathers, the encylicals. What are good arguements for use against Lutherans? Does anyone know any good books or websites to research this on? Where exactly do they veer from catholic doctrine?
As a Lutheran, I would suggest the following:
- Spent the vast majority of your time learning the Catholic faith. If you do, you may soon find that what we believe, teach, and confess are generally irrelevant to you. If you find they are not irrelevant, then you have a whole new problem to wrestle with.
The Lutherans cannot be discussed without noting which synod they profess their faith in.What are good arguements for use against Lutherans? Does anyone know any good books or websites to research this on? Where exactly do they veer from catholic doctrine?
It won’t be that easy though for their are HUGE various beliefs amongh LutheransThis is my suggestion…spend your time studying the Catholic faith…start with the Catechism…the Church Fathers, the encylicals.
Then when you encounter Lutherans, Methodists, Anglicans, etc…then you will know how they deviate from the Catholic Faith…and you can then formulate your defense of the CC.
Yet on the main points of doctrine, the Book of Concord is the confessional document of Lutheranism. That some Lutherans have veered from it and scripture is disappointing, and is perhaps a strong argument against them. The Lutherans cannot be discussed without noting which synod they profess their faith in.
That is most evident by the posters we have that always delineate their synods LCMS
or ELCA currently (seen no WELS posters) and they digress on major issues
justification, women clergy, abortion, homosexuality, realtions with the RC Church,
close closed or open communion.
Thus the simplistic answer to learn all you can about the Catholic faith does not help really for most all protestants seem to think they have a good understanding of Catholicism and yet come to different conclusions about what “they believe” it teaches is.
Reading the Lutheran Confessions and Concord book will not get you real far either for
the unwritten “secret” is that some Lutherans consider themselves confessional but not
"some others: Note however they seem to try their hardest to show a unified front on the message board that really does not exist on paper anyway between the ELCA and LCMS.
Justification which is the key issue has been ironed out by the ELCA with the RC Church.
Therfore you’ll find more disagreements between the two synods currently than with
the RC church actually in the ELCA.
