It seems like Live Action is bringing the reflection about lying back to our faces.

I feel frustrated by the fact that people, especially those who say that lying is not always a sin, don’t seem to notice that they are dealing with the very condition of the Fall, as well as the foundation of Christianity.

We don’t seem to take it seriously that the Devil is a lier and murderer from the beginning. People don’t seem to notice the association with the tree of knowledge of good and evil. And the absolute trust that we must have of God if we really believe in him and that he loves us and everyone else.

I feel sad that I don’t have enough words to express all my understanding. But perhaps by discussing it, all the truth is going to come out.

Faith is about truth or it is not faith. And lying is from despair… really.

I pray that the truth shine and that in its splendor we feel the power of the love of God.

God bless

Are you referring to rationalization and excusal? The premise of a “lesser” evil, still being evil?

From the very start we have been “passing the buck”, it was because of the serpent as for Eve and it was because of the woman as for Adam. In other words it really wasn’t what “I” did, it’s what “they” made me do?

I think I am referring to lying in all its forms. I realise they can be an infinite number of forms, but perhaps that’s why the infinite Word became flesh…

Yeah, amazing how we pass the buck…someone pointed out to me that Adam actually passed the buck to God!: “the woman you gave me!” 😃

Yeah, amazing how we pass the buck…someone pointed out to me that man actually passed the buck to God!: “the woman you gave me!” 😃

The man pointed to the woman; she pointed to the serpent; the serpent didn’t have a finger to point with and got stuck with the blame. 😃

Many years ago I attended some kind of theology class, this Priest was great. During the class lying came up. One asked about what to do should someone ask you something you did not wish to divulge? The context being those “white lies”. He showed that usually in these situations the person asking has no right to know. Just about every situation someone came up with this was in fact so. I have since had “I am not at liberty to divulge that information” on the tip of my tongue.

It is not that it is accepted in the world today, it is expected. It is “societal brainwashing”.

Isn’t that where it is supposed to stop, “The devil made me do it”:tsktsk:
