Hi Didi,

The thought occurred to me that sometimes drug manufacturers offer their medications at low or no charge to those in financial need who apply. Ask which company makes the medicine(s), check the website of the company and see if they offer such a program. If you don’t see it on the website contact them anyways. You may require a note or two from your doctor, but it is definitely worth trying.

In the meantime, you remain solidly in our prayers.

Just wanted to thank you all for your prayers. I haven’t been on the forums much as it doesn’t take much activity to wear me out. We are in the process of losing our home (short sale) and will have to find a place to rent in a couple of months. Please pray the new place will meet our basic needs and save us some money each month that I can apply towards medical treatment. Trying to sort through things and pack seems an insurmountable challenge. My husband is working extra jobs to pay for medical bills, and my teenage son is working odd jobs and looking for a regular job, but they are hard to come by. They help me a lot, but it’s still very overwhelming.
 
I know this is an old post, but how are you doing now? I just recently found out I have Lyme, so I found your post. I learned there is financial assistance available.
 
Haven’t been on the forums for quite awhile again. Had an email notification of a response.

We have moved twice. First rental was kind of a dump on a busy street. We have a friend at church who wanted to rent her house out and have someone do repairs and maintenance for reduced rent. It’s much better.

I had IV treatments for 2 years with little improvement. There are no LLMDs in our state and most insurers here refuse to acknowledge that Chronic Lyme Disease even exists. I have found a naturopathic physician who specializes in Lyme but nothing is covered by insurance. Doing oral antibiotics now. Just feel like I’m treading water and not making progress. They are saying 2-5 years of antibiotics with monthly blood work to check for organ damage…

I pray daily for all who suffer with this terrible disease and those with other chronic illnesses. Your prayers help so much. And I know Jesus is with me helping me carry my cross. Some days it’s just overwhelming.

I am only in the very beginning stages of treatment. My LLMD advised me to go on the Microbiome Diet to heal my gut. I basically eliminated gluten, grains, dairy (except butter), and sugars (honey, agave, maple, all dried fruit) for 3 weeks. After 3 weeks, you can add back in sweet potatoes and goat/sheep dairy. Anyways, I’m in week 4 and I cannot believe how much better I feel. I also took the recommended supplements in that book, but you could try without and see if it helps you at all.

Anyways, hopefully I’ll see you on the facebook groups. They have been really useful and encouraging to talk to people who have Lyme and have found healing.

I was diagnosed with Lyme a few years ago. Thought things were hopeless.

Got some junk mail recently about Stevia, a sweetner sugar substitute.

It is cheap; I ordered some from the vitamin catalog.

Experienced an immediate turnaround.

I just add it to my morning coffee; Costs only a few pennies.
