Madrassa introduces an "anti-Islamic terrorism" course to counter the Islamic State group

The Razviya Manazar Jamia-e-Islam madrassa, in Uttar Pradesh, has a new course to counter extremist propaganda. Students will compare the original excerpts from the Qur‘an and the Hadith to the distorted versions published by terrorist groups. “We want our students to be prepared to counter the propaganda of these organisations,” one teacher said.

Not likely. Below a few quotes from the Koran specifically. “People of the book” refers to Christians and Jews.

98:6 Bible believers are the worst of creatures

Good for them. India has suffered more than any other country from Islamic terrorism.

In today’s (Aug. 8 2015) paper, the former Education Minister of Jordan, Zogan Obiedat, is quoted as saying “Islamic State ideology is there, in our textbooks.” He goes on to say that if ISIS overran Jordan “a large majority will join ISIS because they learned in school that this is Islam.”

There is an excellent web site, impact-se.org of an organization that has analyzed school texts throughout the Middle East to see what they say about war, peace, Israel/Arabs, etc. They also look at Israeli texts. They quote pertinent sections of the texts so you can actually see what is being taught. You should also be aware that the Saudi school in northern Virginia (!) was forced to withdraw and change some of its texts a year or so ago because they were teaching hatred, etc.

There is also an excellent public letter from hundreds of imams around the world to al-Baghdadi (leader of ISIS). lettertobaghdadi.com It’s good because it makes its points in Islamic terms. One of the best parts is the end (appendix?) where it compares ISIS to some prophesied evil group.
