Maia Aprahamian, composer, friend and faithful servant reposed in the Lord yesterday morning at 4:00 am.
Her liturgical music compositions were among those sung at “Never Setting Light” Concert last year. We sang her “Gladsome Light” last night.
I’ve stood in prayer next to her for most festal vespers and vigils the past 3 years. On the infrequent occasions when I was in her temple for a Divine Liturgy, Maia would return to her seat after Eucharist with antidoran for this Greek Catholic.
Prayers for her family, her beloved priest and friends in the parish of St. Nicholas where she was a constant presence.
May her memory be eternal!
(Nice photo of Maia with Fr. Martin at the Monastery of St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco, and another here. Her burial will be at the Monastery.)
