Major increase in vocations!

Hi Everybody,
Today at mass a priest buddy of my pastor was there to say mass. He is the vocations director for SLU and also a Catholic Chaplain in our armed forces(as is my pastor). He said there are currently 60 enrolled in the seminary and they have 23 applicants for next year already!!!

Father Butler at SLU is awesome! We have gone to mass at SLU when in the area and he comes to our parish every year for the annual healing mass and a few other times a year. He just got back from the mid-east serving our military brothers and sisters.

Please pray for Father Butler and his ministry with vocations as well as his military ministry. If you ever get to SLU… stop in and go to mass there. It is an awesome experience!!

Thats odd then as universities do not have Vocation Directors.

Religious orders and Dioceses have Vocation Directors.

It’s a Jesuit University. The area’s Jesuit VD is probably on staff or in residence at the University and involved in it’s ministry program. Similar situation at Loyola in Chicago.

Yes St Louis University!!! And I am sorry about my fauxpas… vocational director for diocese, but does his work at SLU since it is a Catholic University with a seminary… Sorry for the slip. He is still one of the most enthusiastic yet reverant priests I have ever met!!!

BTW…I am a she;)
