Things I’ve learned from this thread.

AGCC is a hoax.

Some glaciers are growing and some shrinking.

Many people that are pro AGCC in these posts expect their sources to be read by all of us. They need not read anything they disagree with. Just write it off as uniformed and consider the scientists that disagree with AGCC as incompetent in their field or a tiny minority. A number of posters have almost pleaded with StAnastasia to read other websites. More than one poster has asked her to check out www.icecap.us. The requests are ignored.

It’s all in the numbers. If 3 out of 5 scientists in a particular group favor the AGCC claim, then it must be true. If 3 out of 5 scientists present data to suggest no AGCC, they are ignoring the facts.

Joseph D’aleo, world renowned climate scientist, and other contributors to www.icecap.us are sadly mistaken and not really scientists despite WMO and AMS credentials. Even though the pro AGCC folks haven’t taken the time to read their data. Yes, especially StAnastasia.

Those that don’t accept AGCC are seeking lies not the truth according to many pro AGCC folks in these posts.

There are HUGE issues of maternal health internationally, i.e. young women being forced into marriages and motherhood at 14 - unattended deliveries, leading to fistulas, maternal and infant death - so when I read these links I don’t automatically take the same information to mean contraception and abortion - but the support of women’s health is a much larger issue and not a ‘code’…

An example - in Guatemala nearly 50% of the children suffer from chronic malnutrition - so I believe supporting education of women - postponing childbirth till families can provide for children - I think this is in keeping with the teaching of our Church - now the way one recommends that women do this obviously does NOT include abortion - there are organization that provides training in NFP internationally - that is working to do just that. (of course this only works where women have rights)

But UNFPA doesn’t use NFP

So - while many may understand all this to suggest that abortion is being recommended as the solution - and as Catholics we should speak and fight against this - we should also support efforts to help women and children around the world.

And just one more note - there are family planning methods that are being taught and implemented that do work - and this is what we should be standing for and supporting - it is irresponsible to suggest that all family planning is wrong - NFP - does work and can be and is being taught internationally -

But at the end of the day - again - there are links that do read implication, connections, etc that may or may not exist — but I also believe that there are those that use these implications to gain support for not doing anything about AGW - not because they believe in the sanctity of life but because you believe in the sanctity of life - they hold this issue up to keep people from making changes.

Doctor Enzo Ferrara, a physician employed at a hospital in Scutari, Albania during the UNFPA’s eugenical crusade, was outraged by the secret sterilization campaign being carried out against Albanians with the aid of the UN Her protests were met with a shocking response from Albania’s Ministry of Health: “We have accepted international aid on condition of reducing births” (35).

My guess is that generally when you see the wording “women’s health” or “maternal health” there’s an agenda lurking below. Too bad, because there are legitimate needs women have that are not addressed & could be.

That’s not the case at all. This is referring to eugenics, abortion, what this women thought about the sanctity of life. That’s all.

And yes, we do have legitimate needs. Much of what she stood for did not seem to be out concern for women, but rather ridding us of the “burden” of those that are not perfect.

I’m saying I’m extremely skeptical. I’m not questioning your integrity. I’ve just seen too much doctored stuff out there. I don’t know who took the photos, I have no way of knowing if they were photoshopped, I don’t even know if they are photos of what they claim to be.

My point is, the photos themselves are not proof of AGCC.

Emissions have decreased drastically over the past 30 years. I just recently came back from Northern Germany. The air was so clean compared to 30 years ago. We used to joke about the “smell” of Europe. We decided it was a mixture of Gauloise cigarettes, diesel fuel., and B.O. lol.

Anyway, the air in the US and Europe is much, much cleaner than it was 30, 50, 75 years ago. Yet you are claiming that the air is more polluted causing global warming. In the '70’s, when the air still stank in Europe, the fear was another Ice Age, due to the air pollution blocking out the sun’s rays. There were windmills (now called wind farms) all over Northern Germany. The Green Party was protesting the use of these turbines because migrating birds were being chewed up in them, and because their shadows blocked out precious sunshine. It was estimated the a 1 degree F. in drop in temperature England would cause great famine. I was there. I was a student that took part in the first Earth Day. WE HAD TO DO SOMETHING OR THE WORLD WOULD END!!!

They have lost all credibility. This is what I was trying to say earlier. Their gross negligence and deceptions have caused me to question every single thing put forth. Until this credibility gap is overcome, it will be difficult for AGCC believers to effectively advance their cause.
