It seems that there are a lot of pro-lifers who, when they find themselves with unwanted pregnancy, make the choice that ends all choices for their unborn babies.

“The Only Moral Abortion is My Abortion”
When the Anti-Choice Choose

Abortion is a highly personal decision that many women are sure they’ll never have to think about until they’re suddenly faced with an unexpected pregnancy. But this can happen to anyone, including women who are strongly anti-choice. So what does an anti-choice woman do when she experiences an unwanted pregnancy herself? Often, she will grin and bear it, so to speak, but frequently, she opts for the solution she would deny to other women – abortion.
In the spring of 2000, I collected the following anecdotes directly from abortion doctors and other clinic staff in North America, Australia, and Europe. The stories are presented in the providers’ own words, with minor editing for grammar, clarity, and brevity. Names have been omitted to protect privacy.

If abortion WERE illegal and it was FROWNED upon by society in general, do you think so many of the pro-life women in that book would STILL choose death?? How many abortions did those “doctors” do in order to hear the remarks they said they heard?? I offer prayer for the babies, the mommies in those situations, and the “Doctors” who go to school all those years just to kill babies.

Very poignant.

Don’t you just get so  when they call us anti-choice
What about the father’s choice, the child’s choice
Pro-choice people should call themselves one-choice, death.

My daughter has had a book published. It is poems written from the perspective of a person who is bi-polar. The following is a poem she wrote that tells it like it is about abortion.

A New Life

At last we meet our match
becoming one, you survive for a future
you grow together
form and develop a foundation
litle by little
you are a tad bit stronger
every day counts
you struggle through the tough times
relax when you are able
eat when provided for
sleep when it is needed
the weeks go by
just when you think
you are on our way
there is a light
in the distance and you then realize
mommy changed her mind.

Some people just don’t understand the poem. When I read it, it did cause such sadness for the little one who just didn’t make it.

Joyce Arthur is an atheist that is pro-choice. I wouldn’t put too much stock in what she says.

Look at all the bizarre articles she has written on abortion:

In my own experience, I’ve never heard of a Pro-life person that decided to have an abortion. On the other hand, I have heard of a lot of Pro-Choice people that decide not to get abortions, even when that would have been most convenient for them.

Abortion may not be illegal but it is heavily frowned upon by society. Abortion doctors are among the most hated and least respected people in our society. I’ve never met a person that had an abortion that thought it was okay. All of them were haunted by it for the rest of their lives.

Thought provoking, poignant and very very sad.

Alas, in my own experience, I have.

my 12 yr old daughter calls pro-choice people anti-life people. i think it is making an impact on some of her friends.

Pro-Life people do not get abortions. A person might believe they are pro-life until they get an unexpected pregnancy and find out otherwise…they were not pro-life after all.

Yeah, the pro-choice atheist that got the OP all sad and depressed was trying to claim that a lot of people that are Pro-Life before they had to deal with an unexpected pregnancy became pro-choice once they had to deal with that unexpected pregnancy. Yeah, I’m sure a tiny fraction of Pro-Life people are a bunch of fakes that aren’t really Pro-Life when it comes down to it. But the vast majority of Pro-Life people are for real. It’s sad that some article from a pro-choice atheist would lead anybody to believe otherwise, especially one who is Pro-Life.

The last anecdote was the saddest. Imagine that Catholic mother’s horror and shame at her daughter becoming an abortionist!:nope:

Being a mother, I could not imagine the horrer of that!
Lets all pray for Life, all who read this thread!
Prayer can change to heartless state of this world. I pray Catholics come Home to the real traditional values and Life being at the front!
God bless!
