Hello everyone,

I’m thinking of making a prayer room in my home, but I need you to help me locate some items! Where online can I find pictures of saints to purchase, frame and hang on the wall of my prayer room? People like Peter, Paul, Matthew, Luke, John, Mary, John the Baptist, Joseph, Father Abraham, David, etc. etc. I’m not wanting fine art or anything just simple “portrait” types of prints. I’ve goggled myself crazy and can’t seem to find what I’m looking for. It may suffice to find them on-line and copy them and print onto photo paper myself if I can’t find them. I appreciate any help you can give. Thanks.

Matt

Is there a Catholic religious goods store where you live? We have a great one that sells beautiful pictures (8x10) on sort of a cardboard backing that we give to kids in religious education. You can often buy them in packets.

BTW, this has always been a dream of mine as well – to have a prayer room with pictures, books, candles, quiet sacred music, etc. Someday when the kids are gone…

Manphibian,

Check out this site and let me know if it helps out at all. I know you can download the pics, so I’m assuming once you download them you can print them.

If it isn’t any good let me know.

Also, I live near a shrine that has a gift shop. If you’d like, we can set something up via email (or p.m) and I can look there for you. They have alot of pic’s at the going rate that the net charges, but I would only charge for the price plus true shipping charges.

PS…I have made a prayer room in my home, if you’d like any ideas, ask here or in a pm or email. I will be more than happy to share what I’ve done to my prayer room with you.

I would keep it clean and simple. Prominent crucifix. Icon stand for one featured image at a time on a small table or a shelf – maybe with room for a candle and a small vase of fresh flowers (no fakes, please). You can change the image/icon according to the season or feast day.

You could have a couple of prints on the walls, but for my :twocents: too much stuff detracts from prayer.

Prominent wall art might be obtained from museum poster shops or poster sites on line. It would help to know your way around a little art history for this.

It is also important to have these things well matted and framed – but it costs a chunk o’ change! Skinflint’s trick: Go to a superstore like K-Mart or Walmart and buy ready-framed art cheap. Throw away the picture and put in your own print. Custom framing for poster size prints can cost $200 or more, while the K-Mart trick can cost you $35!
