I want to make my own Rosary since I can’t find what I’m looking for. I’m thinking I want stone beads connected by cord, but all the instructions I find concerning cord Rosaries are ALL cord. They don’t account for the space I’d need to leave for the beads and so I can’t find an accurate string amount.

The other problem… I also like my Rosaries long, like 24 in from top of the farthest bead to the bottom of the cross. Any suggestions or help?

Do you know where I can find directions to use cord to make a Rosary?

Try the link below. I made a couple of decades and a rosary out of 1/4" clothesline rope a couple of years ago. Mine was all rope except for the crucifix and is about 36" from top to bottom. I made square knots for the decade “beads” and a barrel knot for the mystery “bead”. The barrel knot is probably easier with the tool shown when you use small chord. The rope was pretty easy without the tool. You could actually make one if you’re handy with a knife and a wood.

Hope the info helps.

That’s what I had in mind.

How much twine do you think I would need if I wanted it to be pretty long and put a two wrap knot in between each bead to seperate them?

I had to experiment with lengths in relation to the knots. (I ended up having sections of rope with knots in them all over the place.) The website is saying to cut a 62" length and that looks like for a typical rosary (about 12" max. stretched out). If I were to guess, I probably have close to 9’ of cord in mine and like I said, it’s all rope except the crucifix.
To be honest, Mary herself had to be guiding me on that one because I caught on real quick and it came out too perfect.

How much does a spool of twine usually cost? And agate beads?
