Making an Honest Confession, then Remembering Sins Later

If I make an honest confession where I confess all mortal sins, and I also mention “any sins that I have forgotten,” then I am forgiven. What if the next day, I remember a mortal sin that I hadn’t confessed, do I still need to confess it?

You are forgiven in this case, you don’t need to refrain from the Eucharist or anything.

Do mention it in your next confession, though you don’t need to run back to the confessional straight away or anything.

I do the same thing when I’m in the confessional. Confessing my sins and also say " and all sins I cannot recall". From Jesus Christ through the Church the priest conducts pennance,mostly in prayer and advice toward your repentance conversion. He does say “I absolve you of all your sins, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen”. There is so much going on when we attend confession leading to stress,anxiety,distractions. I would be confident you have been forgiven. Our Catholic faith is an every day conversion and learning experience. I commend you for attending confession admitting your sinfulness. There are many Catholics emptying the pews to receive Holy Communion but very few if any at the confessional. Our examining our conscience is important before communion to be worthy to recieve the sacrament. (That’s why confessions are usually on Saturdays and Sundays BEFORE MASS) You’re doing great God Bless You.
