What should someone do if they realize they’ve made an error on something like a job application or resume after the act of submitting them has been completed?

We Catholics are supposed to be honest people. Do we contact them? Or do we wait until it is brought up in something like an interview?

Is it an error that is likely to have any impact on anything?

If it is something important, just let them know about it if they call you back. If it’s a minor thing (you put 3.43 instead of 3.41 for your GPA), don’t worry about it. If you accidentally claimed that you were the US Ambassador to Peru for the past 30 years and set numerous Olympic records, you should correct the record.

Agreed.

One thing that will get you disqualified from consideration from many companies (or it will get you fired if it’s discovered after you’re hired) is any incorrect information regarding a criminal record. If you forgot to include something along those lines, contact the prospective employer immediately and correct the info. Better to do that than get fired for falsifying an application.
