Making holy cards?

Hello, all,

One of my old missals has fallen apart, but it has some lovely holy pictures. I was thinking of making holy cards out of them – and wondered if that would be alright?

And if so, does anyone have suggestions how? I thought of putting some white poster board backing on them.

If it’s not, I’d appreciate knowing, so I can keep the book safe.

My children and I do this often, as we seem to inherit a lot of old missals and books from family members and friends. When we have pages that fall out, or books that are beyond repair, we cut out the pictures and laminate them. Some we have made into bookmarks.

I agree, the pictures are precious and there is no way I could let them be thrown away.

Thats a great Idea, I have a LOT of old Magnificat Magazines that are only good for one month, and they always have amazing art, AND prayers that I could cut out

take the picture, and then find an appropriate prayer, and place it facing the other way n the back, then laminate it. Wha-La! instant prayer card.

We made our own prayer cards and gave them out for those attending the baptisims of each of our children.
