Malabarese and Malankarese

How do the malabarese and malankarese/chaldean catholics feel about being in union with each other coming from Nestorian/Mono-Miaphysite backgrounds, or opposite ends of the spectrum? Do the Malankarese/Chaldeans use icons?
 
We Malankarese and our Malabarese brothers and sisters are not so far apart… our common heritage as St. Thomas Christians, along with our cultural and ethnic ties (not to mention inter-marriage) make us much closer in reality than it would seem based on political history.

Both traditions use iconographic images, although I wouldn’t say we are as strict regarding Iconography as Byzantines are.
