How does that relate to Malachi? And how does Jesus pure sacrifice on the cross play into that?

It relates to Malachi as the passage in Hebrews refers to our sacrifice of praise, not Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. Praise and thanksgiving is our pure sacrifice. It say let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God

You forget that Our Lord has taken over the role and vocation of Israel (and has left his Church on earth to continue that vocation). In fact, St. Matthew’s Gospel was written to establish this fact, which is why, for example, he applies the prophecy “out of Egypt I will call my son” to Jesus. Protestant ministers LOVE Malachi 3

Why would they like Malachi 3 when it foretells a proper priestly sacrifice that Christ will institute?

Edit: Oops, sorry, I misread…how do you understand “a sacrifice of praise”??

In Hebrews 13:10, it talks about an “altar” that those who still practiced the old covenant aren’t allowed to “eat”. And verse 12 specifically mentions Christ’s suffering with His “own blood”…He is even compared to the old covenant animal sacrifice in verse 11. Sounds in lock-step with Eucharist to me. Why can’t all this also be a sacrifice of praise in the one verse you cited?
