Thank God virtually none of us are (or were ever) called. Otherwise, Catholicism would have gone the way of the Ephrata Cloister. And I’d have never been born.

That is your choice, but don’t be resentful or condescending to those who can accept and live a life of complete virginity/celibacy.

In no way did I mean to be condescending, and I’m certainly not resentful in the least. In fact, I’m thankful for those who do take a vow and go on to the priesthood, etc.

But how can I be not a little irked when a call to celibacy is equated with strength, which implies that a non-celibate life is weak?
