Male, Female, Other

In the last week, my eight year old has sat with me while we signed up for something online. Both times there was a drop down box for gender, and they each said male, female, other. The first time he just laughed and said other! What’s that!
Today he laughed again and said, other! What else should it be? A monkey?! He was genuinely laughing and had truly no idea what the other would be. How should I and in fact WHY should I introduce the farce of a non gender to my kids? I’m annoyed by it all! I’m not sure what to do with this idea of transgenderism cropping up in kids and letting them be a different gender, that it is a social construct, it just ticks me off.
Today I saw a news article that somewhere in Europe, I think Berlin, they are making over their walk signals to be pairs of men or pairs of women. I just simply can’t with that nonsense.
 
“Either they’re confused, they’re signing up for someone that they think might need to get a substitute of the opposite sex, or they don’t want to say. Apparently, that happens. It doesn’t matter to us.”

If they’re transgender, after all, they’re seriously confused. People who believe marriage is possible between two people of the same gender are seriously confused.
 
There are two genders.
People are either one or the other.

People born with conflicting genitalia or thinking processes can choose either one.

No need for an “other” category unless those designing the website are hopelessly politically correct, scared to death of committing the worst offense: "Offending " someone somewhere.
 
Wasn’t there an article in the Mail the other day about a 7 year old child, I forget what term they were using but it was an “other”.

I think it was born a boy, looked like a girl, but played like a boy or something.

I was genuinely so confused by the end of the article,and the writing style of the Daily Mail doesn’t help.

I watched a video on Yahoo that profiled three kids approx ,eight or nine yrs of age.They were shown two pictures.One of Bruce JennerBefore his change, the other of “Caitlyn Jenner”. When told they were the same person,the response from these kids ran the gamut of comments similar to your son’s,to full acceptance of the change in BJ.
That our kids are being indoctrinated into believing this is perfectly normal,sickens me.
We as adults can be aghast and disgusted by all this,what about our children and grandchildren.This is diabolical what is going on in our society.
 
I’m thinking that the term ‘gender’ should be applied only to nouns. For human beings, there are just two sexes–male and female. The fact that your child just laughed at the choice of “other” shows that he has common sense.
 
Situations like these are why I spend time explaining to my kids that there’s a right way, a wrong way, and a popular way of doing/saying anything. And that the popularity of an idea has no bearing on if it’s right or wrong. sigh

It IS ridiculous we have to go through this but at least we can have a laugh with our kids about the non-sense that’s out there sometimes.

I don’t understand it either. I don’t know why our society thinks we have to embrace and love this. No one can force me to feel a certain way. Just because we see most people cheering and jumping for joy that same-sex “marriage” has been made legal in yet another state, doesn’t mean I have to do the same thing. Why should I? What happened to “live and let live.” So we don’t agree and embrace it. From what I see, the majority of the world accepts this, so we can afford to have a handful who don’t. I don’t embrace it and never will. It’s just ridiculous, and people in this country just need to grow up and realize what really is important in life. Everything has been thrown into complete chaos. It’s insanity, and nothing but hype. It’s just the “in” thing, and I don’t know why so many are just so blind to seeing all of this for what it really is. Same-sex “marriage” may be legal, but it’s only legal. It will never be true marriage sacramentally. The whole thing is just sick. It’s gone beyond acceptance. We have to love all of this and act thrilled about it all to be popular. Well, to me, I’m more afraid of eternity than the world.:rolleyes:

Until, unfortunately, he might become good and indoctrinated and steeped in the lies. Hopefully not, though. I thought the same thing, that at least it’s a comfort that this child laughed at what is obviously so ridiculous. “Male and female He created them.” What’s so hard about that? Really…

I’m sorry and I’m not trying to start anything but you just seem very angry to me. It almost gives me some anxiety and that’s not an easy thing to do to me now days.

That’s okay, SilverLight. (I love your name) I am angry, but I don’t mean to give you anxiety. I just get so sick of the way our society is right now. I’m pretty sure God, Jesus, Mary, and the Saints are just as angry about now too.

I never heard of this approach before, but I think it is awesome 👍

As for the ‘other’ category. I find it all so sad. I read an article about a kid (supposedly a boy:rolleyes:) running home all excited because for the first time at school, he was allowed to use the girls washroom like he always wanted to. I am sorry, but that is just sad

It’s chaotic. It almost seems as though there is just no order anymore. It’s all confusion. And what happens when the boys and girls are in high school and the boys want to take showers in the girls’ locker room? Are the girls really going to be all right with that? Most wouldn’t, I would hope.

Thank you I have been getting a few people saying that about my name. Now onto what I want to say. No one is forcing you to accept anything. If people are confused about what gender they are perhaps it would be better to help them then turn away in fear and disgust. I’m more upset at the amount of intolerance in the world right now regarding things like this and other issues. They are not bothering anyone and if the news did not report on this stuff no one would be reacting either. I think more people in my generation (I’m 23) are more open to things then those who are from past generations.

I don’t think any sane person would let males and females shower in the same area when they are that age.

Their brains have melted. They hate anything and anyone whom they view as obstacles to their agenda. Children are nothing more than vessels to implement their socialist new world disorder. :rolleyes:
 
Some people feel that male/female doesn’t fit their gender identity, or they fit both, so they need an ‘other’ option.

I do wish the news would just quit making such a hayday of all of this. If it’s all so “normal”, then why does it have to be talked to death? If it’s “normal,” then they should just get on with it and stop talking about it constantly, or at all. You’re right in that sense. It’s unbelievable that we’ve even come to this, as a society, wondering what sex/ gender we are. It’s a confusion that some people have, and they should be helped, it shouldn’t just be encouraged. There is compassion for these people, there is tolerance, from what I can see, but it’s gone beyond that. We celebrate it when we should be trying to help them. And they are hurting people, in a sense. Look at AIDS. They hurt each other, and there are others affected through blood transfusions who could get AIDS as well. It really isn’t anything to treat so lightly and fun and celebratory, the way our society has.
