Male-only priesthood atones for "Sin of Adam."

The Most High endowed the first Man, Adam, with a unique power and authority before woman was created for him by God. Adam was then and all males are now to live out their universal vocation as stewards life and blessing: multiplying the bounty of creation; and magnifying the will of God, especially in caring for women and children and their spiritual and material needs.

The Lord created Woman as “helpmate”, and as one physician-scholar noted, this is more properly translated in a life-saving capacity, as someone who brings water to one dying of thirst; and is a term used elsewhere of God. “Helpmate” is no second-class status. This nicely parallels the Virgin Mary’s role as helpmate, as bringer of the Savior to a dying world.

Woman ate of the forbidden fruit and sin and death did not come into the world. She had no grant of ultimate authority from God to betray. Adam ate of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and sin and death came into the world. This is the biologically-defined forensic basis for the male-only priesthood. Men alone can legally atone for the “Sin of Adam” as having had a divine mandate before woman was ever created from him.

Woman was given her own grant of ultimate authority, and through her, her Seed. God cursed Lucifer, the Father of Lies and Murder, and cursed his degenerate spiritual offspring, with the Woman & Seed, “seed” being a collective term that beautifully defines the Body of Christ. John’s Apocalypse shows in Chapter 12 the Seed born of the woman, the Virgin Mary, and also tells of her “other children” who are persecuted by the forces of evil. Woman is in perpetual enmity with evil, her and her children.

Adam’s power and authority and the Woman’s power and authority [here capitalized as a title to denote this Genesis mandate, a title used exclusively by Christ in referencing His mother] are separate and yet harmoniously intertwined. Christ acts under both Adamic power and authority as Priest-Sacrifice; and as Seed of the Woman in conquering sin and death, vanquishing Lucifer and his minions as Christ’s brothers and sisters are called to do with Him.

Note that the Lord came as the Suffering Servant, so divinity itself does not shun service. Service is not a sign of inferiority, and indeed may be a duty of the superior as one of many divine paradoxes, this duty of service by the superior. Angels are superior to mankind yet they serve mankind and will indeed be judged by mankind. Woman dare not forfeit their duty to battle Luciferic sin and death. Receive God’s highest compliment: the call to service of superior female aiding inferior male; and under the Adamic mandate of teaching and disciplining reserved to males just as superior angels serve and are judged by inferior mankind.

Woman, God’s gift to Adam, blamed by Adam for his failing leadership, was given the great role of being the embodiment of God’s curse upon Satan. As helpmate, “compassing a man” and bringing the Savior, her Seed, she returned the life God took from man (as God “refined” in her as Genesis literally states). And as “blessed among women” not “above” women as the Old Testament said of Hannah, all women are exalted in the Virgin Mary, the fulfillment of Womanhood. Satan would delight in having no Real Presence confected, as a priestess is a forensic impossibility. It’s not called the “Sin of Adam and Eve.” Satan would then blunt woman’s front-line attack if he could get her to revolt as he did. This pressure to abandon woman’s role has brought devastation to convents.

The disdain for woman and woman’s role is satanic, and that includes churchianity in general and the blocking out of nuns as concommitant to effecting sexual corruption in the Church. The compromising of man’s role (including the biological marginalization of lowered testosterone levels and attendant effeminization) is satanic. The predation on woman, and children, and the diminution of man is satanic. Why the presumption of normalcy that women should fear men? Why the presumption of normalcy that children should fear men? Men must step up and defend women and children even unto death. Women must stay the course and not be knocked out of orbit even if men are drawn into the sterile playboy lifestyle that assuages egos for cash.

May the priests return to their duties of caring for widows and orphans, not redecorating churches. May the priests, especially Jesuits, once again organize economic safe havens, and today that may mean credit unions and community gardens and safe, cheap housing. Organize payments for the uninsured in a system used today by other christians who pay for members’ health care costs by good will offerings after being informed of their situation by letter. This was originally a Catholic invention within the guild system!

May the religious brothers and sisters again be the beloved and mighty movers and shakers in coming along side the sick and wretched and abandoned and ignorant and raising them up in their unfailing, steadfast, patient love.

May the laity network as a community united in wisely engineering non-profit ventures that actualize all the potential of each soul. May we no more buy food and sundries at retail outlets and then donate to food banks and food kitchens and single mothers and the poor when we can unite in buying wholesale and in bulk and use our full power. Let us pray, fast, and tithe our organizational and educational talents as well as cash.

Just a few comments on some of your writings.

God did give us a free will - but you make it sound like God can give authority to betray?
I can’t see God, being perfect and true, as being able to grant authority to betray - seems it goes against God’s very being/nature.

My understanding is that the story of Adam and Eve illustrates a basic point - that our first parents sinned and that sin is born into their offspring until baptism. But after baptism, we still have a tendency towards sin and are in need of continued grace. All of us men and women. I see it as a sin of both parents and all of us, as their offspring, must work to atone for our offenses.

I have heard it put this way - Christ was priest, prophet and king as we all become at baptism. On the kingly part, the only authority of a king is service (Fr. Corapi). The pope’s true title is the ‘servant of the servants of God’.

Do you man Angels will be judged by what they do for mankind? I can’t see me judging an Angel. I think Angels have already been ‘judged’ - if that’s the correct word.

Lot of ranking here - superior, inferior. How about this (again from Fr. Corapi) - men and women are equal in dignity but not the same - men aren’t superior to women and women aren’t superior to men. Equal in dignity but not the same. We are different emotionally, physically and spiritually.

Sorry, I don’t buy it. The reasoning is tortured, to say the least. Just say that the Catholic Church, after much consideration, has decided that a male priesthood is best for it.

I don’t agree that the priesthood is men only because that’s what the church thinks is best for it. I think it’s men only because based upon Sacred Tradition, Sacred Scripture and the Magisterium, the Church believes that’s what divine revelation has told us.

Adam had a mandate of ultimate authority. “The buck stops here.” This is the kind of corporate rulership role possessed by King David, whose nation was punished for a sin he instigated, that of ordering a census, something specifically forbidden by God. The devastation was throughout the nation, and alleviated by David’s answered prayer that God Himself punish the nation. David duly atoned as King David by buying the threshing floor that became the Temple Mount; and arranging a sacrifice to save the nation, not as a priest but as king. Note that Jesus Christ fulfilled all sacred roles, and that of king, bearing the crown of thorns. I presume the barring of a census was because when God says to Abraham your children will be as numerous as the stars, it seems a bit of an affront to start counting…

Adam had a grant of real divine power and authority, and the free will to “hear and obey” or to disobey. It was because of Adam’s real power and authority from God that the “Sin of Adam” had a real effect on the world in bringing sin and death. The Lamb of God slain before time began is Jesus Christ, whose atonement came in the fullness of time.

Adam also had, as all persons do, personal responsibility as contradistinct from ultimate authority. The effects of virtue and sin are personalized. Here the consequences were laboring by the sweat of his brow to bring forth food from a cursed earth. Woman had personal responsibility, and the consequences of sin are set forth, and are no curse. She would bear children in pain.

If a baseball fan were to catch a fly ball, it wouldn’t count as an out. If a football fan were to run on field and make a touchdown, it wouldn’t count. So it is with the Woman. Woman had no grant of ultimate authority, no office, no role to betray and would only bear the effects of sin via personal responsibility. Adam was a player.

In cursing Lucifer and his minions with the Woman & Seed, God gave a role of ultimate authority to the Woman, and through her, derivative of her, to her Seed. God’s curse is here a grant of divine power and authority to wage the just war of conquering evil. God authorizes and empowers. Free will gives value to our actions and this is not God condoning evil, but God ennobling man’s loving obedience.

The explicit point in the New Testament denomination of Original Sin as the “Sin of Adam” is that he and he alone had the ultimate authority to score big or blow it. He blew it. Adam and the Woman both experienced the personal responsibility, the consequences of sin, but sin and death came into the world when Adam ate the forbidden fruit. All mankind suffered when Adam sinned as Steward of Life; all David’s people suffered when David sinned as ruler who ordered the census. But when David sinned with Bathsheba, murdering her husband to take her, he sinned as a private citizen, so to speak, and suffered the consequence of God’s denying their child life. The whole nation wasn’t punished. King David did have the power and authority to ensnare the nation in sin just as Adam had the power to ensnare all people in sin and death.

God has decreed that mankind will judge the angels. Angels were not made in the image and likeness of God, man was. Man is fitted to assume the mantle of judgment over the angels, no less because of Christ’s exaltation of mankind, “made a little less than the angels.” It is not the superior or inferior attributes given by God that empower, it is the mandate of God Himself that does so, actualized in our consonance with His will, like the Virgin Mary’s FIAT, pure intent flowering into assent.

Jesus Christ made Himself positionally inferior to the Father, with Whom He is equal, to atone for sin that is an attempt by the sinner proudly emplace self above the Father just as Lucifer, a created being, tried to emplace himself above the Eternal Creator. The inferior “merely human” attributes of the Virgin Mary cannot be overcome by fallen angels whose attributes are superior to human attributes, but who cannot muster divine power and authority, only force of will.
