I didn’t know where to put this so I put it here because it was “in the news”. I thought it was such a great story.

I believe the article said they operate out of Colorado Springs which is a different diocese from Denver. The next time I’m down there I’ll stop by.Thanks for sharing the story. I wish I lived close to Denver. “…Jedi knights or Santa’s helpers”… that was a good one!![]()
Well, if you do, will you give us an account of your experiences?I believe the article said they operate out of Colorado Springs which is a different diocese from Denver. The next time I’m down there I’ll stop by.
Jedi knights or Santa’s helpers…lol…oh, from out of the mouth of babes…such discernment! They are like Jedi knights in some ways, because they are here to defend us against the Dark Side; and yet they are also like Santa’s helper…or rather St. Nicholas, because they help spread the Gospel, and goodwill toward fellow man…Thanks for sharing the story. I wish I lived close to Denver. “…Jedi knights or Santa’s helpers”… that was a good one!![]()
I’m sure your husband would recommend confession as called for right after that shoping spree and maybe Mass beforehand as a preservative. What a great article. I would certainly shop there if I could. Imagine going to Mass and confession right after a shopping spree! That is the best!
In fact, it is a good way of reaching out to people where they are rather than the Church seeming isolated and inconvenient from our everyday lives.I LOVE it! What a great concept and a way to get people back into the Church. It’s far less intimidating to walk into a storefront like this than a huge cathedral.
He’s a Fransican. I think that some of the members (including himself) who founded it may have broken off from another Capucin group. But his order is a distinct one from these friars.FWIW I believe Fr Groeshel is from this order. He is always talking about the work with the poor.

Yes, I’ve been there–it’s a great service to mall employees who are Catholic as well as for shoppers. I’m glad to hear that it’s not unique. There is a mall in Syracuse, NY that has the “Franciscan Place” there is a small chapel. They have Mass and hear confessions. It is a neat quiet place to go.
Yeah you’re right. I don’t shop often, so when I do I tend to get more than I need. Maybe the monks in the mall could start one of those overspenders anonomys groups! LOLI’m sure your husband would recommend confession as called for right after that shoping spree and maybe Mass beforehand as a preservative.![]()
