Malta apparition given the nod by Pope Benedict XVI

Asking that the Virgin Mary be revered under her title “Queen of the Family”, Pope Benedict XVI is giving a nod to an ongoing apparition by a Malta seer to whom the Virgin is appearing under that genearal title. The messages cannot be approved by the Vatican until such time as they apparitions cease. This extraordinary request by the Pope suggests he is looking very favorably towards this seer and her messages from the Virgin Mary.

Virgin Mother, Queen of the Family, strengthen the loving patience and gratitude within our spiritual and physical families that we may unite with your Spouse, the Holy Spirit, to bring Christ’s brotherhood in the Eternal Father to all in His peace. AMEN
 
I haven’t really heard of this one before! How exciting! I have always thought that next time Mary comes around she’ll have something to say about America, just like she spoke of Russia at Fatima. I’ll be following this 🙂
 
Umm ! why is the website using what I think is the Cross at Medjugorje, and a picture of the Blessed Virgin Mary used by Medjugorje advocates ?

Is there a link to Pope Benedict’s Approval ?

That is a good question. It seems odd that the pope would get involved when the supposed apparitions are still occurring. Isn’t it usually up to the local bishop to discern whether it is worthy or not?

Speaking purely for myself, I fear modern-day apparitions because of the many people who claim such things. Fatima was something that even an unbeliever could not deny. A thousand pardons to the Blessed Mother if this is real and I still have doubt.
 
That is not any kind of nod to the current apparitions. The title of Our Lady Queen of Families is, as the article says, in the Litany of Loreto. I do not see anywhere that the Holy Father makes any reference to the on-going apparitions in Malta. Yes, approval or disapproval of apparitions, is left in the hands of the local Bishop.

Absolutely correct. As the article says, the title of Our Lady Queens of Families is in the Litany of Loreto introduced by Pope John Paul II. There is nothing here about giving a “nod” to anything.
 
Having been sent a link to this, I decided to look at the alleged apparitions, there doesn’t seem to be anything in contradiction to the Catholic faith.

I’m going to watch this one !

This is promotion of an unapproved apparition.

When you click on “messages” it says “Messages from Medjugorje” … is this the same? i.e., Malta apparitions=Medjugorje?

I read that the person receiving the messages claims to have made a journey in spirit to Medjugorje.

:confused: Interesting… Affiliation with Medjugorje is enough to send me running the other direction.

I went to Medjugorje in 2004 with an open mind. I truly think that when the apparitions cease (which apparently will only be with the death of the seers… there’s no end in sight!) the Church will condemn them. The Bishop already has (x2).

It’s ‘apparitions’ like this that make people skeptical of true apparitions of Our Lady.
 
I’m scepticial too, it took me 15 years to decide against Medjugore, and I’m not even infallible.

I’m not saying I believe in them, I said I will be watching, plus you that posted, know that the title of the thread has proved to be false, but the apparitions or all alleged apparitions have not.

But yes, if I hear Medjugorje mentioned, that’s enough…did I miss it ?
