I can’t help but feel he was setup, it was a witchhunt against him. This was painful to watch. I felt he was being bullied and attacked for having a different opinion. It made me fear for the future because I know in this society if you don’t follow the majority you are an outcast. I can totally understand christians being persecuted in the future its scares me! I’m no sheep I can’t be for things that I know is offending God. The whole same sex marriage debate is everywhere now and it has been so pushed on us by the media, celebrities etc. Propaganda at its best.

Agreed. Absolutely disgusting. I know here in the US people have been threatened, but I don’t think anyone has been attacked for being against this. I guess the UK is further down this disturbing road than we are.

Ain’t that the pot dun callin the kettle black. All this anti-bullying stuff, and then being the bully. That’s bull.

The very concept of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ makes me fear for the future. 😛

Yup. It’s what they do.
But notice how all over the West they don’t target Muslims or other minorities with these set-ups.

Seems to me like gay “rights” takes a backseat to other political gains, and if I were GLBTQ, that would be troubling.

Perhaps you didn’t read the article. He was questioned not about what he said, but how he said it. And the reaction would have been the same whatever religion he professed.

I beg to differ…if it had of been certain other religions they would have respected his beliefs and views.

His views and beliefs were not the problem. Again, it was the way he expressed them.

And there are other people who disagree with SSM marriage apart from Christians. You don’t have a monopoly on the matter. The way he expressed himself would have been criticised if he had been a Muslim, a Hindu or an atheist. His religion played as much a part in the criticism he received than would the football team he supported.

Express your views honestly and with respect and they will be treated honestly and with respect. Whichever belief system you follow. Or not, as the case may be.

Imagine a world in which a man can be a woman, the police are the enemy, looting is called protesting, Christians are called evil and the victim is always to blame. You are about to embark on a journey into the Twilight Zone.

Exactly how I feel. Exactly what it is.:rolleyes:

They just ask for trouble. One person’s opinion isn’t hurting them any. They are bigoted and intolerant to the extreme. They need to get a life. They need to just get on to something else now.

I’m not really a sci-fi fan but I think I know what you mean - I tend to think of them as the Colosseum but with less clearing up afterwards.

A man signs up for a show, notorious for people humiliating themselves, humiliating each other, being humiliated by the producers of the show and being humiliated in the ‘Red Top’ press.

Man gets humiliated.

How could he have missed out on that being a possibility?

He is a professional politician, who should be able to defend his views, and as Kaninchen pointed out, he would have known what to expect from appearing on Big Brother. He is being paid £60k and possibly of more value he has had a lot of free exposure in the media.

I can’t say I feel very sorry for him.

I can’t help but think the British public knew exactly what he’s about:

From independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/nigel-farage-compared-to-jesus-by-ukip-candidate-winston-mckenzie-9930734.html:

*Nigel Farage has been likened to Jesus by Ukip’s Commonwealth spokesperson, Winston McKenzie.

In an interview with Chat Politics, he said the Eurosceptic “army” was behind their leader, who can “do no wrong”.

“Jesus was one man, we’re his army. Farage is one man, and we’re his army and that’s what it’s all about,” he said. …]

Mr McKenzie, famed for having joined every major political party in the UK 😃 but never winning an election :D, most recently stood for Ukip in the 2012 Croydon North by-election, receiving 6 per cent of the vote.*

From yourlocalguardian.co.uk/news/election2014/11227675.Top_10_outrageous_Winston_McKenzie_moments/

*The Thornton Heath pub run by McKenzie and his boxing brothers lasted longer than his political party :D, but not by much. McKenzie Bros Bar and Grill opened in July 2001 and closed in December 2002 after a police raid led to 25 people being charged with drugs and firearms offences

It would be folly for any politician to denounce a whole borough as “a dump”, “unsafe” and “descended into depravity”. When said politician is standing for election in that very same borough two days later, it is nothing short of political suicide. :D*

Are you saying that just because you don’t agree with his views?

Why should anyone be expected to discuss that on Big Brother?

And the reaction would have been the same whatever religion he professed.
:rotfl:

Oh, I don’t think so. :dts:
It’s very clear that Christians are much more persecuted when they speak out on this issue, than say, Muslims are.
