Man coming from women's room at gym

My dander is up, admittedly. I saw a (big burly) man coming from the ladies’ workout room at the gym, and my first instinct was defensive. He got onto one of the machines out in the main gym.

I’m going to side with caution, and assume he’s transgender. I took a peek into the ladies’ workout room, and a Muslim woman was on the treadmill. The other ladies didn’t seem bothered.

On the way out, I did more looking than I should have, and may have offended him.

Please pray for this, that he doesn’t report me to the gym. I was going to call, and see if they could verify that he was, indeed, transgender. I still want to call and report the incident, though, just in case he isn’t.

Maybe the muslim woman is his wife and he had to speak with her?

Don’t you think the other ladies would have been upset if he’d gone in there and done something horrible? How exactly do you know he didn’t need to speak to one of them? Or take in something one of the ladies dropped or forgot?
 
Could he have been in there to speak with/ look for a relative, fix something that wasn’t working, or because he simply isn’t familiar with the gym or wasn’t paying attention and went in a wrong door? I myself accidentally went into a men’s room once or twice because I had my mind on something else and didn’t realize my mistake till I was inside, and I similarly had a male friend who accidentally went in the ladies’ room at the airport for the same reason.

If you have a concern I would suggest calling the gym and asking about it.

I spoke with the gym. They appreciated the phone call. They are enforcing the fact that that space is for women. They suggested it could have been the maintenance man, as well.

I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t a transgender, because we Catholics have guidelines for dealing with such.

Our family has a military and law enforcement past, so being reactionary is how hubby trained me. He’s been like that the entire time that I’ve known him, and frankly, gets on my nerves to a certain extent. I came from a tourist town, he, secret city USA. I think you can see where there could be conflict.
