Unbelievable, horrible.

Remember who is behind acts like this.

He looks a bit like, Guy Fawkes. Interestingly, I think the original Guy Fawkes was Catholic.

Set off how?

Let’s face it, there have been all kinds of events involving arson, guns, knife threats at churches (not simply Catholic Churches either) as well as events involving schools, malls, concerts, i.e. public locales.

In the church events 99 times out of 100 it has been a person who has a variety of issues, often but not always religious ones, and too often it’s been ‘copycat’ after other actions. Sadly sometimes the perpetrator dies in carrying things out and we never really know why it happened to begin with.

Separate from this entire issue, whether it’s attacks carried out on churches or other places, is a growing consensus among many people that anti religious attacks of all kinds are escalating throughout the US and the world, again for a variety of reasons. I think that’s one reason Father Hellman has the current 40 days of prayer against the demonic forces which are certainly having an effect on ALL evils in the world today.

But whether a person feels that attacks on churches are ‘same old same old’, meaning that they will always take place just as they will any time or any place some determined person wishes to commit mayhem, and that we need not have any particular worries or cares that this indicates a rise in anti religious attitudes that can result in something infinitely worse in time, or that the gradual rise is itself an indication that something worse is almost certainly on the way, I believe we can all agree that any violence of this type is to be deprecated, and that prayer for all is the best thing.

Or as St Pio says, Pray, hope, and don’t worry, and St. John Paul II says, Be not afraid. . .and as St. Peter said, “The devil is prowling searching for souls to destroy. Resist him, solid in the faith.”

Yeah, I’ve been reading entirely too much of the stuff being posted on Fr. Heilman’s group lately, especially from his supporters.
Today I am not reading there or numerous other places because I am taking Father’s advice to limit social media and pray instead.

I’m tired of fearful/ anxious people. (Not just Catholics, everyone.) I do not do well with it and sometimes my patience is tested. This is a flaw in myself and a little cross.

Entirely understandable. I’m like Lizzy Bennet, my flaw is to willfully misunderstand others too much! I think you’re very wise (as indeed, you have proven yourself to be here, time and again.)

Hope you have a blessed and peaceful evening!

Maybe you could leave the link, I think I’d like to read it.

To other news, unfortunately, NY Post does report on some graffiti in NYC on a Catholic statue. For the record, yes, I think it can be cleaned up and that is the extent of the damage. I don’t think I will even link to it. I hope we don’t have too many of these episodes.

Father’s facebook group is called US Grace Force. It’s a closed group but if you’re on Facebook you can request to join. Just search for it and it will come up. Most of the “action” is in the group.

A man in Marion County drove a van into a church and then set it on fire while parishioners were inside, deputies said.

Officials with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said they were called to the Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ocala Saturday morning after a man drove his vehicle into the front of the church and lit a fire.

Well, this is really going to set off all the Catholics who think we’re about to be martyred in our pews here in USA any minute.
Strange response - people suffer the destruction of their church and are almost burned alive and you’re first concern is that someone on CAF may misinterpret it?
