How can a Christian trust a church “not” founded by Jesus Christ?
First of all, it’s “official” name is The Universal Church (not The Roman Catholic Church). It’s referred to as the RCC to distinguish it from other rites of Catholicism. How come they call RCC the Roman Church and not the Jesus Church?
How come they didn’t call it the Universal Church of Jesus instead of the Romans?First of all, it’s “official” name is The Universal Church (not The Roman Catholic Church). It’s referred to as the RCC to distinguish it from other rites of Catholicism.
The Universal Church has no attachment to any man (such as Lutherans, Calvinists, etc…), places (such as The Church of England, etc…) nor to events (such as Pentecostals, Baptists, etc…) or denominations (Evangelicals, Charismatics, etc…).
It’s name “universal” means all encompassing, the entire body of Christ.
Here’s a good explaination:

Why stop at calling it The Universal Church of Jesus? How come they didn’t call it the Universal Church of Jesus instead of the Romans?
Jesus would be ok, at least the founder would have his name on it.Why stop at calling it The Universal Church of Jesus?
Now, why is Islam “not” called The Followers of Allah?
They did, and still do, call it the Universal Church of Jesus, the Catholic Church. Catholic comes from the Greek word καθόλικος meaning universal. How come they didn’t call it the Universal Church of Jesus instead of the Romans?
Well then, you have to ask Jesus why He didn’t reveal to His Church that He wanted it to be named after Him.Jesus would be ok, at least the founder would have his name on it.
I can’t defend Islam, a lot of it is corrupted, I’ve said so all along.
Yep!They did, and still do, call it the Universal Church of Jesus, the Catholic Church. Catholic comes from the Greek word καθόλικος meaning universal.
Rome, is where St. Peter set up the See of Rome. It’s a misnomer to call the Catholic Churhc the “Roman Catholic Church” because the Catholic Church is a Communion of Churches, just as it always has been.

“Catholic” means Universal, the “Catholic Church” is THE Church, Roman is simply the rite, there are 22 rites in the Catholic Church. How come they didn’t call it the Universal Church of Jesus instead of the Romans?
Are any of them named after Jesus?“Catholic” means Universal, the “Catholic Church” is THE Church, Roman is simply the rite, there are 22 rites in the Catholic Church.
He is going to write his new name on the believers and they are really the Church, so I don’t think he would mind if you called it the Church of Jesus.Well then, you have to ask Jesus why He didn’t reveal to His Church that He wanted it to be named after Him.
If you know Christ, then you’d come to find that He was the epitome of humility and never exhalted Himself. He always spoke of His Father’s will (not His own).
That should be a strong clue as to why He didn’t reveal to His Church that it should be named after Him.
I don’t know. Are any of them named after Jesus?
