Man Recounts Miraculous Healing Through St. Martin de Porres' Intercession

This miracle, which was authenticated by the Catholic Church, made it possible for this saint of Peru, who lived around the year 1600, to be canonized in 1962. He is much thought of by many Catholics. His feast day is November 3.

St. Martin de Porres is a beautiful, humble saint and the Patron Saint of many causes. I like that he shares a Feast Day with another humble man – soon-to-be Blessed Solanus Casey.

If you have pet animals. you can also pray to St. Martin for their health and healing. He is often depicted with a cat, dog, bird and mouse eating together from the same dish.

St. Martin De Porres is one of my favorite saints. I love the cat and dog and mouse in the statue.
