Man arrested entering St. Patrick’s cathedral New York with gasoline

The man was apprehended by cathedral security around 8 p.m. and taken into police custody by officers with the NYPD Critical Response Command.

It’s just a mentally ill copycat, especially given how obvious he was about it. They get crazies there regularly and have extremely good security. There’s always somebody who wants to get up and yell about gays or whatever in the middle of Easter Sunday Mass and has to be hustled out.

I wouldn’t worry. St. Patrick’s Cathedral at any holiday time or other large event like a relic tour is always extremely well guarded by the NYPD. It’s nice to see.
