Pierre Teilhard de Chardin had some interesting ideas concerning the future of humanity.

For my own part, if humans survive into the future, I believe that humans will create other sentient beings which are not dependent upon biological means for survival. These beings will be the next “stage,” if you will, in the evolutionary process. They will be able to colonize other worlds which we are unable to due to our mortal limitations. They will, hopefully, be designed and bestowed with the greatest intellectual capability and capacity for good. Perhaps technology will develop to a point where an individual human consciousness, intelligence, awareness, can be translated into their bodies. Instead of a life span of around 75 years, imagine a life span that continues indefinitely.

With time, progress, and greater development, who knows?

We must be kept from ourselves in the here and now. The savage brute beast that, as Carl Sagan asserted, lies deep within our R-cortex, must not dominate. Therefore, at this point in human history, we need outside moral restraint. Traditionally, this has been the responsibility of political, cultural and religious enterprise.

Visionaries, Marx, Freud, and Roger Waters of Pink Floyd asserted, people are like sheep. Most are followers, but few are leaders. It is up to this elite group of leaders, educated in the finest Ivy league institutions, this conclave of intelligentsia, to pursue a global dominance at this time. This has already started through the efforts of masterful minds such as Hungarian stock magnate, George Soros, leaders of the United Nations, the World Council of Churches, Pope Benedict XVI, and the rising stars within America, Barak Obama, Hillary Rodham Clinton, John Forbes Kerry, Albert Gore, Jr., Judge Joseph Greer, Senator John McCain, Senator Chuck Hegel, Ward Churchill, William Weld, Willard “Mitt” Romney, Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi, Talk Show Radio host Ed Schultz, Voice of the Faithful, QueerNation and the ACLU.

What does the future hold? :rotfl: :bigyikes: Back to you Katie.
Next up, the scandal at American Idol. Did Paula really sleep with…

I have often thought about that.

Imagine if science made it possible not to die.

Would you chose not to die?

Would you chose Earth over Heaven (or Hell)?
