I definitely disagree with all these replies saying to trust faith over science like science is such an enemy.
In most cases if you separate the pure science from the person distributing it, the information jives nicely with religion. Some (not all) sources spin the wording of the information to “reveal” some untruth about faith.

Until God tells me otherwise, I’ll keep trusting his book and take the rest with a grain of salt.🙂
 
I didn’t think my thread would go onto page 72, and I haven’t even nearly read all of the posts.

Anyways, I’m convinced that evolutionary theory is quite compatible with Christianity. Dennis Bonnette offers a wonderful examination in “Origin of the Human Species”. Another good book is “Aristotle to Darwin and Back Again” by Etienne Gilson. God bless.

Good points, especially about the spin which is usually done by some people in the media.

Regarding my ancestors, I believe that I came from a very long line which goes back to the two, true, first sole parents of the human species, Adam and Eve. I believe that these two real people are just as the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Second Edition, describes them. See post 1066 above.
