Many Are Here Under False Pretense, People Saying They Are Catholic But Are Not

There are many here that say they are Catholic but are not, in fact, there are some here who claim they are Christian but do not act like one. Others are here to hurt one another and to bash whatever they say, word for word. If they were true Christian, this wouldn’t happen.
I myself do not nor ever will claim to be a Saint. Far from it. But I live a good life, I think about God from the morning I wake up until the time I go to bed. I love Jesus Christ with all my heart, my mind, and my soul. I will do anything for anybody, as I have already done and do. I teach others about God, His church, and the history of my faith. Although when I talk, it is rather adament at times because I am more of a defender of my faith than anything else. I mean no harm to others, although others here want to harm me. Is this what Jesus would want?
There are some here who think that only Catholics should be charitable, and not themselves. I am so proud of my Catholic faith and the fact that Christ has called me to defend this beautiful religion. I praise Him every day.

"For what does it profit a man to gain the world if he suffers the loss of his own soul?"

Amen! what a truly precious gift faith is and what a truly precious gift the church is to all of us!

I shudder to think where i would be without the faith!

shouldn’t you post this thread amongst the catholics and not the Non Catholic religion forum. Just wondering. It really doesn’t make any difference too me.

Who are you to judge who’s a Christian and who isn’t? If you see something that is contrary to what you believe, engage the poster in discussion. If they attack you, pray for them. This post is not going to build any bridges…

I don’t think he intended to build bridges, his core issue is what catholics who don’t agree with the church’s teachings but still pass as catholics anyway.

You are so right to defend Her with the deep love and devotion you have in your heart for this great gift that Jesus Christ founded,** Holy Mother Church! I have found it very profitable for my soul, to have these discussions with people who seem rather hostile to the Faith because it helps me to exercise the virtues of patience, forbearance and charity. I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my love for God and His people,*** especially*** if they are in a place of darkness and disillusionment with God and His Church. I do need to be open to growing in sanctity myself, and I thank God for a place to do this here at CAF. God bless you!

Catholic Answers Forums are open to Catholics and those from other traditions, who are interested in discussions on a wide range of topics. However, there are different categories under which they fall. The Administrators decide and approve which threads are started.Our friend’s suggestion to post this topic elsewhere, was a misunderstanding of how this process works. I was going to say, God knows who’s Catholic and who is not.

I did get the impression that the original post meant people claiming to belong to the Catholic faith but don’t at all. I don’t think the writer meant the Catholics that were uncharitable and hence not living up to their professed faith… although it would be easy to come to that conclusion in some cases. There are lots of us here that strive to live by the example of Christ but fall well short.

It’s wonderful to see though… and encouraging… that most of us are at least trying in our own little individual ways to serve Christ and each other in the Spirit of Christ.

I ignore those who are uncharitable and leave it at that (but it does hurt when it is directed at one’s self).

This is also true. There are people here who may be just trying to seek answers to questions they have.
