Dear Brothers and Sisters,
…Whoever is not with Me is against Me, and whoever does not gather with Me scatters."
These are the final words in the Gospel (Luke 11: 14-23) passage for today, and they help us to continue seeking that “great grace which is the foundation of all others, the grace of self-knowledge.” Are we with Christ in the deepest recesses of our hearts? Or are we scattered in our ourselves?

The First Reading for today (Jer 7: 23-27) also helps us, as it begins with the words:
Thus says the LORD: This is what I commanded my people: Listen to my voice; then I will be your God and you shall be my people.
Do we prayerfully listen to God’s Word – not just on Sunday, but every day? Who is our Teacher? Our One Master? For we can have only One Who is Christ.

By God’s Grace, let us ponder these readings today, or tonight – whenever we can have time to truly listen, prayerfully asking the Holy Spirit to help us know ourselves as God alone can reveal to us. Let us also continue to beg Mary’s intercession - for her Mother’s Heart has learned humility from Him.
