Dear Brothers and Sisters,

How beautiful and poignant it is to me: this Good Friday is on March 25 – the same date on which we usually celebrate the Feast of the Annunciation! Liturgically the Church celebrates only the Passion of Christ today, and will celebrate the Feast of the Annunciation on Apr. 4, but again, how beautiful it is to to be consecrating ourselves totally to Jesus through Mary today, remembering how they gave themselves totally to us on Calvary!

God willing, many of us will be praying the Act of Consecration after receiving Holy Communion today. Some may not be able to receive Holy Communion for various reasons, but can choose some time when they can pray with great attention and devotion. I encourage all who consecrate themselves today, who have not enrolled in the Association of Mary Queen of all Hearts to do so. There is also a Plenary Indulgence which can be gained today, and you can both be enrolled read more about the indulgences by going to the website:

Association of Mary Queen of All Hearts, HERE

By God’s Grace, let us say our whole-hearted “Yes” as Mary did, not only at the Annunciation but all during her life and especially on Calvary, choosing God’s Will in love, by the power of the Holy Spirit. May we unite ourselves as Mary united herself with Jesus on Calvary giving Himself totally to the Father for love of Him and for love of us.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful. Kindle in us, the Fire of Your Love.
Mary, Mother of Sorrows, Queen of all Hearts, pray for us.
Jesus, we trust in You!

I just heard on Catholic radio that the next time this will happen is in 141 years…a truly blessed event!

Dear tm21,

Thanks for that information. I honestly could not remember it ever happening before – in my lifetime – I think I would have remembered, unless I was very, very young. From the time I was a teenager, I’ve had special devotion to the Feast of the Annunciation on March 25 (even when it occurred on a day during Holy Week and the liturgical celebration was transferred to another date).

It is a unique experience for me this Good Friday, and I continue to ponder the union of Jesus and Mary in their willingness always to say “Yes” to God our Father. When I began to study Latin as a freshman in Catholic HS, and we learned to pray in Latin, I began to treasure the words: “Fiat voluntas tua” (Your will be done). May God give us all His Grace to live as Jesus, and Mary lived His Will, not only on Calvary, but in every moment of their lives on this earth.
