IF you remember anything else about the group, they may have been from our church.
We did have a good number of people (from our small parish) to go to the March.
If it wasn’t for this cold that I’m recovering from (congested chest) You would have seen me there.
I know that Fr. Bryan has been looking for an icon of the Visitation that you described. If he DID, they were carrying it. Fr. Bryan was one of the many priests who were at the Sunday evening Vespers prayer vigil.
There were so many people there. I only saw the sign. I really didn’t see who was carrying it. It was just a sea of people! But it was a striking sign. I think it was one of the best ones I saw. I immediately thought of you when I saw it (because I know you are Byzantine). Ask your priest if it was theirs and if so, let him know that it really made an impression on people! I’m sorry you couldn’t make it to the march, but I know you were with us in spirit! 🙂

I attended the march. This was my 5th year in a row. It’s such an uplifting experience.

Living in this world causes me to feel so disheartened at times. I start to feel like I’m the only one who is pro-life! Then I attend something like the March for Life and I realize I’m NOT the only one! There are so many who are standing up for the unborn. There are young and old alike marching in a prayerful protest.

I feel recharged. I come home wanting to yell it from the moutain tops! 😃

One thing I noticed is that I could not find any “news” on the march. The only paper that reported anything on it was the Washington Post. I couldn’t read it onlne though because I’m not registered. But the Baltimore Sun had nothing and my local paper had nothing. What a dissappointment. I think they do this on purpose to minimize the effect. Last year they showed a picture of one or two pro-life marchers and one or two pro-abortionist. It made it “look” like there were equal numbers there and gave the impression that there were only a few pro-lifers at all. In reality the place was jammed with pro-life supporters and I, personally, didn’t see any pro-abortionist.

On this most recent march CNN only reported on the San Fransico march in which there appear to be many pro-abortionist. The title of the article is “Both Sides March” but the picture shows ALL pro-abortionist. The article gives quotes from both sides, but they say a pictures is worth 1000 words. This just goes to show you how slanted the media really is. They tell us what they want and effectively control public opinion. It’s a crying shame!!!

Well here is my story. My bus from my high school came in a little late so MCI was already filled so we had to attend mass at St. Patrick’s. Following Mass my friends and I walked around looking for a place to get a KofC sign. When we met back up with our delegation on the mall we listend to President Bush address us via telephone. For about two hours we waited around for the march to start. Some of us used this time as a chance to socialize with other teens our age from other churches and catholic parishes. It was great being able to have a conversation with a Russian Orthodox and agree 100% on the topic!

When the march finally started my friends and i were standing next to a group of seminarians singing “Hail To The Redskins”… At one point we got seperated from our school and were running around looking for them, looking quite silly in the process…we were spotted by a TV camera…Since we were far behind from our group we mingled with different groups, an AOH group, The Charismatic Episcopal Church, and several Byzantine groups. It was such a wonderful experience being with so many people of the pro-life cause! I made several friends that day and exchanged emails with people all across the country! I will certainly be back next year!

Pray for life!

Peace meets jest: Pro-aborts antagonize pro-lifers with violent threats and graphic displays

The San Francisco Chronicle headline today downplays the pro-abort violence at yesterday’s March as “boisterous,” but the story and photos more accurately portray the truth.

*Th[e pro-life] voice was, by design, mostly silent. Marchers were urged to leave photos of aborted fetuses and signs equating abortion to murder at home. And at a rally before the march, they were urged to ignore those who might try to goad them into an argument… Abortion rights advocates, concerned that the Bay Area movement has become too complacent, showed up en masse to protest the march. And they took a different approach. Although they were easily outnumbered by the marchers, the pro-choice supporters were loud and confrontational.

Many jeered and taunted the marchers, while others stood along the street, waved wire hangers and chanted slogans.

One group wore sheets and gowns dipped in red paint to symbolize their image of back-alley abortions…

At Pier 7, abortion rights supporters held green balloons and a variety of handmade signs that ranged from the obscene, “F – - your agenda,” to the snide, “Keep your rosaries off my ovaries.” And they chanted: “March for Life, that’s a lie, you don’t care if women die,” referring to fears of unsafe, back-alley abortions if the procedure were to be outlawed. *

Note sign in first photo below, “Keep your laws off my body… and I’ll keep my hands off your throat!”

I didn’t go to the March this year, but following it someone sent the link, above, to a 3+ minute video of the March which concludes with what appears to be a miraculous event given the time of day … a rainbow without rain and positioned at an impossible height in the sky over the Supreme Court Building.

Sending it to a sibling the reply was that it was a doctored, i.e., a fraudulent 'miracle.

My response was that rainbows aren’t miracles, but their timing may be.

Can anyone verify the video or the event represented?

I saw the rainbow photo on the internet and it did rain briefly in Washington. The ground was wet. Weather.com had predicted 50-80% chance of moisture, rain or snowy sleet.
