Anyone heard of this person? She is famous for seeing the souls in Purgatory. God gave her graces to meet the souls in Purgatory and to help them.

And I have read her book “Get us out of here”. Is everything she experienced true?
But she mentioned that only 25% of Priests believe her experience.

In the chapter of illness. She mentioned that some illness are caused by demons. I really don’t understand this. How are those illness caused by demons? and must it only healed by praying Exorcism Prayer?

Any comment? Thanks.

Demons can cause illness, according to Scripture.

Because they are spiritual, this would happen by attacking the connection between the human soul (spiritual) and the natural body (psychikon soma).

Pax Christi!

Our Lady tells us that war is punishment for sin. It makes sense that evil is involved in disease as well.

I haven’t heard of this woman before. Can you tell us about her? What does the Church (her bishop) say about her?

I’m interested in all things related to Purgatory.

God bless.

Lived in Austria, died 2004.

Claimed to see visions of Souls from Purgatory.

The Church has not ruled concerning her, so this is an unapproved private revelation.

The church has never investigated Maria Simma’s private revelations. It’s not approved, and so, can’t be promoted.

It’s an excellent book. I also recommend “Poor Souls”.

Yes… but she was very knowledgeable and her knowledge were from the Souls in Purgatory. In her books, she told us much about the life of souls in purgatory that no one else would know. I think these are more or less her real experience… so why didn’t the Church investigate more on her private revelations? and why not approve? because something is contradict with the Church’s teaching?

there are many kinds of diseases, how do we know the disease one is suffering is from demon or from other causes?

I always think the physical illness is only caused by the physical matters or body functions…

Do you mean the book written by John William McMullen? Was his experience approved ?
Sorry it is “Hungry Souls” by van den Aardweg, Gerard J.M.
Spectacular book. It’s a book that tells different approved stories and tells you of evidence from the only purgatory museum in the world that is in Rome. Read it. It is amazing. I particularly liked the story where this poor soul asked this very humble lady to do good deeds and offer them for him. The more she did, the more his beast appearance and behavior would disappear. It is a scary book but you also see evidence of burn items, hand imprints on cloths, etc. I highly recommended and all stories he tells are approved and all the evidence he provides are from the museum.

I have no idea why her private revelations weren’t investigated. 🤷 I have read: she had the approval of two bishops; couldn’t find their names, had a spiritual director; couldn’t find that name either, and her book has an imprimatur.

Question about bolded part: If it’s unknown, how do you know it’s true?

You are free to believe Maria Simma’s message.

For myself, I’d have to do more research. Unfortunately, there is very little written about her, conflicting statements she made in interviews (unsure about the veracity of these interviews), and generally, an information void.
