Dear Bible_Catholic

Can I suggest something to read? Try True Devotion to the Bless Virgin by St. Louis de Montfort. It explains a lot. Pax† :signofcross:

I think different people find different spiritual practices more or less useful, and it can change to some extent over one’s life. If your doctrine and belief are orthodox, the fact that you don’t feel a strong connection to it in a personal way is not a big issue, usually.

I only started to feel some more personal connection to Mary after I had children, and it still has never really extended to praying to her. For that matter, I don’t tend to feel a really strong emotional connection to the person of Jesus. My natural tendency is to pray to the Father, or the Word.

Now, to some extent this means that I have to be careful not to allow God to become too much of an abstraction, and to purposely remember Jesus as a man. Luckily, the liturgical year and Scripture and religious art are very helpful in this respect.

But I may go through a time when I find Jesus the man is very important to me, and I know many other people do.
