Several years ago (I don’t even really remember exactly when, I may have been around 16 years old or I may have been 21 or this could have been last year. Strange how I can’t recall exactly when.) I had a dream where I was sleeping in my bed and a woman appeared next to my bed.

I tend to think of this dream as something related to my grandmother because she had died recently and I promised myself I wouldn’t forget about her and would pray for her and recently I remembered that promise a year or two or three ago. That’s probably why I can’t remember when I had the dream. (I wasn’t very religious when I was younger either but I always believed God was out there).

There was a very bright yellow-orange glow around her but it didn’t light up the room. She had purple robes on. I think she held my hand in the dream but I don’t remember if that happened in my dream or if I imagined it.

I remember the feeling from the dream. I felt very very very very very very peaceful and with the same emphasis, joyful. Then she was gone.

My life didn’t change after that point. I just thought of it as a nice experience and continued living my life in sin and without God. Now that I’ve come back to the church, I wonder why that beautiful experience didn’t impact me throughout the years or change me. I think my sins were clouding my judgement of common sense.

Also if it wasn’t a dream, which I’m pretty sure it was, that would have been really cool. 😃

We are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses…you never know…
Sounds wonderful; I’d cherish the memory and feeling of peace.
Mary.

This experience doesn’t require interpretation however the colors have a meaning.

Also out of curiosity, which hand did she take and on what side of the bed did she appear on.

It is Common for the dearly departed in heaven to briefly notify and comfort family members on earth, especially if those family member are deeply grieved.
