we have a retired preist who sometimes helps out in our parish, covering for our pastor when he is not available. he adds a hail mary (with a proper introduction) after the creed and a memorare after the general intercessions.

is this OK? I like it, but the liturgy does not bend to my will so…

Hi Brain,

I don’t have a GIRM here, but what you are describing does not sound right. As you point out, the liturgy is not something that we toy with to make it “feel right”. Mary is already praised within the Creed and she is always in our hearts. Changing the liturgy to give her added prominence seems unneccessary and even dangerous because once people start changing the liturgy they often seem unable to stop tinkering with it!
