Arrrgghhhh!

I can’t believe the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, celebrated on 01 January, is the oldest Marian feast. Prior to Vatican II, 01 Jan was the Feast of the Circumcision.

What giveth?
Does that mean you didn’t get 100%, Manfred? 😉

In the pre-Vatican II liturgy, the feast of the Motherhood of Mary was 11 October. 01 January was for a brief period in the 1960s called simply “The Octave of Christmas”.
11 October is Motherhood of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a 2 Cl. feast, in my 1962 Missal. My parents told me that they always sang Marian hymns in church during October as well as during May when they were kids.

I got 7/10.

Hmm, what are the 4 dogmas on Mary ? I can only think of 3.

October for us is the month of the Rosary - certainly special to Mary :yup:

There are four dogmas stating important aspects of Mary’s role in salvation and her personal relationship with God.

Their names are:
1 Divine Motherhood
2 Perpetual Virginity
3 Immaculate Conception
4 Assumption

Got that right! I only scored an 80, because of the oldest Marian feast question (which I still think is the Annunciation) and the number of Marian doctrines. :o

BTW - what ARE they? I can name the Immaculate Conception, the Assumption; but the others???
