Is it OK to perform the act, the wife climaxes and is satisfied and then both husband and wife stop (ie husband does not climax)?
Which is not what the OP described. The OP asked if it was a sin for the man to NOT climax at all.The method of birth control you are talking about is called cloitus interruptus. This is the sin of Onan and is mentioned explicitly in the Bible. Onan slept with his wife and allowed his semen to be spilled on the ground to deliberately prevent conception. The Lord killed Onan because this act was so displeasing to him. The Church teaches that this act is sinful.
.
I find it hard to believe that the man would not climax under these circumstances. However, if this is the case, then this would be a form of masturbation, at least for the woman. The Church teaches that masturbation is sinful for both men and women.Which is not what the OP described. The OP asked if it was a sin for the man to NOT climax at all.
Why? To be quite frank, it’s happened to me a few times. Things happen: stress can cause this, medication can cause it, your mind all of the sudden making a 180 degree turn can cause it.I find it hard to believe that the man would not climax under these circumstances. Because of diabetes & hypertension, that became pretty much the norm for DH and I. I now avoid intimacy to avoid that situation. Why? To be quite frank, it’s happened to me a few times. This is very true.think the difference is the INTENT of the couple.
Or any other unintentional issue like previously mentioned. It doesn’t HAVE to be health related to be sinless. However, there is no sin if he cannot climax due to health issues. I think it is better to consult with an expert or a priest on questions such as this.
It might be a good idea to visit his doctor. But there is no moral obligation to do so.Aside from all of that, if there’s a medical problem preventing the husband from completing the act, he should visit his doctor.
