Good morning my dear fellow Catholics 🙂

I am not sure where to post this ( If I am in the wrong place I apologize and please feel free to delete or move )

How do I ask this

I am 41 and have had some rather conflicting info on the topic of " marital sexual practices that are OKAYS and NOT OKAYS " ( Sorry, I don’t know what words to use that is appropriate for the forum ).

Anyhow, my gorgious bride and I are a little confused as to the Catholic teachings and stance on this. Any help or resources that anyone has would be greatly appreciated.🙂

Thanks and God bless.
CJ

Well, it might be easier if you posted a BIT more specifically what you are looking for. Are you wondering about artificial birth control? (Not permitted, by the way.) Foreplay? (Permitted.) The man needs to “finish” inside his wife. Is that of any help?

Hi Sillara,

Thanks for the reply 🙂

Yes, more info ( trying to find the appropriate wording but still find answers to my questions 🙂 )

No, nothing to do with birth control.

Yes, the question/confusion we are having is understanding the Catholic Church stance on " Foreplay " and several things that fall under that. Am I making any sense

This is also in regard to things I may do to/for her as well as things she may do/for me.

Peace,
CJ

If I understand you correctly, all touching of either of you is permissible. It is the ending that is important, if you know what I mean.

Thanks again Sillara,

Yes, I understand your contribution in regard to the man.

What about the woman though ???

Is there any resources that explain this in DETAIL ??

Thanks again,
CJ

I am not sure about the level of detail, but you could check out “The Good News About Sex and Marriage” by Christopher West. That might help. 👍

I am paraphrasing but someone else on the Forum said something like this:

As long as tab P is in slot V, at completion, all is good.:o

And I third the reading of West’s book.👍

Thanks maryjk, 🙂 ( and others )

I get that point regarding the man.
I will find and read suggested book ( thanks )

I remain confused as to the woman ( Completion for man is obvious ) what about the woman who may have several " smiles "
( sorry, do not how how far I can or should take this in open forum ) along given journey.

This ( the woman being pleased by the man ) is the main source of our confusion.

Am I making any sense at all

Peace,
CJ

From the above book (I apologize of this is too much for the forums!):

Ideally, the wife’s orgasm would happen simultaneously with her husband’s… That being said, if the wife, despite their sincere efforts, was unable to climax during penetration, it may well be the loving thing for the husband to stimulate her to climax thereafter (if she so desired). In this case, such stimulation is not inherently masturbatory since it is within the context of a completed act of intercourse.

Hope that helps…😊

Baylee,

Thanks for sharing that from the book 🙂 ( Yes, that sems to answer a large part of our concern )

I look forward to reading it in complete form.

BTW, I already like you a ton as one of my beloved dogs ( goldens) is named bailey 🙂

Thanks again

Peace,
CJ
