Mark Twain on religion

Letters From the Earth is a wonderful treatise on Christianity, and The War Prayer is just as brilliant a commentary on modern Christians. I haven’t read many of Twain’s longer works.

For those who think Mencken was mean, well, he was one of the more infamous curmudgeons yet discovered; but try out his serious work on religion, Treatise on the Gods. I don’t think many religious people will agree with his conclusions, but it offers an interesting perspective on faith and religion.
